2022 Texas Portal News

Help me out here.....It was my understanding that each player could only enter the portal once......forever. That would make the guys make the right deal and then live with it until  his time at the school ran out....unless he graduates with remaining eligibility.

As I understand it one can enter the portal once with out having to sit out a year. Can enter again but has to ger a waiverto play the next year.

Just does not look like it is enforced.

Hey TFloss,

There  was a poster on the Orangebloods free board showing a Twitter post, but I don't know if it's a trusted source as it has been since deleted. The person was suppose to be a NCAA insider,  but I'm not certain. This person claimed that Red has a NIL deal north of $5M for Addison to come to Texas. Don't  want to repost as not certain of the person and with the post being deleted shortly after being posted.

That's more than any F350 I know of.  I`ll if I can get the name of the person that 1st posted it and let you know.
I'm beginning to think that some of these numbers being thrown around are being exaggerated.

I didn’t see the post on twitter but I did hear the same thing yesterday.

Regarding said poster...

If you see something wild being reported ask yourself

1. Have I heard of this person before

2. Is this a brand new account? How many followers do they have? Are they verified (blue check mark)?

3. Are other trusted sources reporting the same or are they sharing the report?

Internet people will post incredibly intriguing headline worthy news for clicks, views, etc even though there is no validity to the reports. There was an account last year reporting that Bijan would be transferring. Gotta look at all unverified internet "news" with a healthy skepticism.

Remember when we were all on pins and needles hoping we could get James and Tommy Brockermyer to transfer to Texas from Bama? I'm curious, how excited would we be now if that happened? Neither is having much success climbing the depth chart at Bama and aren't expected to play this upcoming season despite Bama having a very pedestrian O-line. Just funny to me how we would have all lost our collective minds with a transfer 1 year ago but at this point, I think it would be a little ho-hum.

Interesting. I don't believe it would be ho-hum, though.  I would gladly take them.

Ok, so can someone summarize things for me or at least verify (my head is swimming):

1. Xavier Worthy and Jahdae Barron are not in the portal and are staying with Texas;

2. The Longhorns are pursuing transfer WR Addison;

3. The Longhorns are pursuing the DE/LB from FAMU (Forgot his name).

Did i miss anything on where things stand right now?

Any help would be appreciated (I'm looking at you Tzar Tfloss).

1.) Correct.

2.) Correct, but to what extent is the question.

3.) Correct, but also a question of how hard the staff is pursuing Land.

I would probably be at least as excited as I was with any of the previous transfers we have gotten from Bama.

Fake account.

The worst part about this is that they would probably be starters on our O-Line. "pedestrian O-line" would be a ginormous step up for us.

Sad but true. Hopefully, things will be better in a couple of seasons as the incoming OL class matures.

But you're also putting money into the hands that don't make it. Imagine the OL has a 100K "salary" from UT.

Tyler Johnson would have left with $400K and achieved absolutely nothing and helped UT in no way, other than being a tackling dummy.
That's the price of doing business.  As long as we get the ones that help get the championships, $400K over 4 years will be a drop in the bucket.  100K "salary" will just be the base.  Top performers get more money.
