He works a 1-2-3 frame.  Spectacular play for the first out; hard hit rocket to Messinger at 3B; ricochets off him and Faltine leaps, grabs and throws to 1B for the out.

Nixon floats a FB on a 1-0 count, 2-RBI double.  Ok St takes the 8-6 lead

A few interesting  notes from the Friday night game:

Hansen: 7 innings:  4-5 strikeouts, no walks, but 4 solo homeruns.

Tying the team record in homeruns for a season at 81.

Up until Daly's? Error the team fielding pct was .984 which is awesome, but 3rd in D-1 this year. It almost seemed on que that Greg and Keith were talking about how great this team was in fielding and the low errors. 

Let's see if the series plays out for us the rest of the weekend. Just not sold on Okie Lite relief pitchers. But was surprised by Pierce giving Nixon a 2nd inning in relief.

The next two starters for Ok St have been struggling of late. Texas has seen all of their best arms on Friday night. Likely will see McLean again at some point in relief.  Martin-maybe. Texas hitters did pretty well against Ok St arms they faced. 
Just my take here, but Nixon is good for one inning max, in middle relief. Extending him to more than that, especially while he appears to have confidence in just one pitch, is a big problem. 

As mentioned above, there are still two game to play in this series.  Let’s see how the team responds tomorrow.

Great point, I was coming on here to state something similar. I've stated this before but Nixon's confidence appears to have been shattered at Tech when that runner stole home. 

The commentator jinx is real. I have seen or heard it happen too many times for it to be a superstition.

Reading Pierce, I think he wanted Nixon pulled before he was.  He was very animated in the dugout!  Don’t know why they couldn’t get someone in faster.
