Is that a lot? Is four inches a lot? Asking for a friend…That’s setting the bar at 4 inches.
Well played ?Is that a lot? Is four inches a lot? Asking for a friend…
The only times the backup wasn't the most popular was when we had Vince and Colt. Then you didn't want to see the backup.I respectively disagree...Card has real game experience, its his position to lose, Ewers may end up as the starter at some point during the year but IMO Sark starts Card unless Ewers just totally out performs him this summer...History repeats itself again, the back up QB in Austin is always the most popular guy in town...we did this last year..
3. Don't sleep on Washington. I think he is a WR who will do the dirty work and has the coaches respect for that. He won't be a major target but he isn't afraid to mix it up with his blocking.3. WRs: outside of Worthy, Whittington, Neyor, and now Hall. Everyone else that isn't currently coming in could and should be afraid of being replaced. Dixon, Washington, and Omeire looking at all of you. Harrison and Alexis both at least have great speed, although Alexis is coming off a knee surgery.
5., Karic couldn't tell if they even played.
are you at the daily practices or at the coaches meetings..I sure hope you aren't basing your assessment on the Spring scrimmage/workout or what you read from the FB rags, who seem to have their own agenda...there are still a lot of practices between now and the first live snap this fall...Help some out.
1. The QB race Ewers is winning. Card still shows that he has the same issues from last year. Yes, Ewers had a bad INT, but Cain showed his fear of going over the middle thus the INT. Card still shows his hesitation on throws and where to go thus taking a sack in a scrimmage is all you need to know.
2. The RBs for full and stacked.

4. We have 2 legit TEs to go over the middle in Billingsley and Sanders. That will be a great to see for a change since Thomas and Finley. Helm, Davis, and Hullaby are back ups or H-backs.
5. OL: Conner, Angilau, Majors, Hutson, Jones showed they can be solid at times, and bad at times. No Parr, not certain why. Garth, Karic, and Goram-Welch couldn't tell if they even played. Waiting on the freshmen in June and see what hits the portal before May 1st for depth or ability to take a spot.
Defense
6. Still saw more from Murphy, Sweat than from others on the inside defense DL.
7. Edges: Sorrell, Ovie, Collins, and Harris Jr. showed more than Finkley. Need to see what Abiara, Dorbah and Thomas can show us something. Otherwise, Tapp, Swanson, Brown, and Burke are taking places with other freshmen. Add Matthias?
8.Gbenda, Richardson, Ford, Overshown showed that they were good for a scrimmage, not a season. How many really want Bush and Brockermeyer back at LB?
9. Safety is better due to not having 2 failures at the powderpuff teams in Foster and Scholar. Having Cook, Blackwell, Crawford, and Jerrin Thompson at the safeties positions is good. Having Allen, Coffey, and Turner-Gooden should be good depth.
10. Corners: Watts, Jamison, Barron, Brooks, with 2 issue guys in Guilbeau and Ibraheem.
Ibraheem, Hookfin, Liebrook, Warren, Wright, possibly Guilbeau, and up to 3 WRs could be shown the door or medical scholarships. Maybe an edge guy or 2 is moved to LB.
Need to know where Brice is placed going forward. Red should be a x factor in the offense in 23.
Will wait till the guys for all kicking spots show to make a decision on that as Will Stone is a place kicker and kick off guy.
Should start Lourd or Ballard, then Wright till 'Bama gets "kill the QB" outta their system. I kid, I kid,...kinda.QB starter is still open IMO. Will not matterwho starts until Ark. urr Alabama shows up. Like last season
I like Charles Wright. I think he's a baller. I doubt he ever plays a down for us but if he does, he'll shine.Should start Lourd or Ballard, then Wright till 'Bama gets "kill the QB" outta their system. I kid, I kid,...kinda.
Haha.are you at the daily practices or at the coaches meetings..I sure hope you aren't basing your assessment on the Spring scrimmage/workout or what you read from the FB rags, who seem to have their own agenda...there are still a lot of practices between now and the first live snap this fall...
I trust that Sark will make the move that is best for UT..he is no stranger to having a bench full of blue chipper QB's all thinking they should start, and has seen many transfer out and the last man standing ended up doing well..IMO neither has won the job at this point, I still think on the depth chart you have to list Card as # 1 until he gets replaced, and Sark has shown us he is not afraid to platoon the position...it may come down to whom the team follows as its leader not just who understands the X's and O's
I just want Sark to pick the best QB. But all I really care about is that the good guys (the ones in Burnt Orange) win on Saturdays.Haha.
I'm giving you my only response. You don't know any former UT football players and don't know any BMDs/big cigars/boosters I guess.
Sark is doing his best to keep both Card and Ewers involved. But if we were to play a real game this weekend both would play, and maybe Card would start, but the majority of snaps ends up being Ewers.
We all want the best for UT, but the former players would say with a straight face it's Ewers and not that close.
Most see Ewers as being the VY with a greater arm and both have had years in college.
and your assumptions are half right...I do know a few former UT football players but they are all old guys like me, and some are long departed, one was actually my family attorney for a short time and used to tell me about being the receiver that would shuttle in the plays from the sideline to the huddle, that once when the play was called for him he stopped halfway to the huddle to look back at sideline to make sure he wasn't hearing things...but those guys all played before you were probably born...as far as BMD dont know any personally, but have waited on a few when I worked at a private CC in Austin with an illustrious member list...Haha.

Bradley was good, but his hands were too small to hold on to the ball. That was a deadly flaw in the wishbone offense, especially if the field was muddy, which it often was in those days.and your assumptions are half right...I do know a few former UT football players but they are all old guys like me, and some are long departed, one was actually my family attorney for a short time and used to tell me about being the receiver that would shuttle in the plays from the sideline to the huddle, that once when the play was called for him he stopped halfway to the huddle to look back at sideline to make sure he wasn't hearing things...but those guys all played before you were probably born...as far as BMD dont know any personally, but have waited on a few when I worked at a private CC in Austin with an illustrious member list...
Ewers may be the next big thing....but what happens if Arch Manning shows up on campus
I remember when "Super" Bill Bradley came to Austin heralded as the next big thing to hit the Forty Acres...but it was a kid from Longview that became the LEGEND and led the Horns to the promised land
Dude, it was a spring scrimmage. Not let's name who was and who wasn't the next great QB. You know guys. I know guys. Am going by the guys that I know that are at the practices. Nothing more nothing less.and your assumptions are half right...I do know a few former UT football players but they are all old guys like me, and some are long departed, one was actually my family attorney for a short time and used to tell me about being the receiver that would shuttle in the plays from the sideline to the huddle, that once when the play was called for him he stopped halfway to the huddle to look back at sideline to make sure he wasn't hearing things...but those guys all played before you were probably born...as far as BMD dont know any personally, but have waited on a few when I worked at a private CC in Austin with an illustrious member list...

"Ewers was the backup to Stroud."Dude, it was a spring scrimmage. Not let's name who was and who wasn't the next great QB. You know guys. I know guys. Am going by the guys that I know that are at the practices. Nothing more nothing less.
As far a Arch Manning goes, he needs at 1 yr to develop and add strength before playing. Manning hasn't played at high level competition. But Ewers played in Texas at 6A and then went to Ohio State. And he learned more in that 1 yr there than playing in high school football. Look at Day's offense and Sark's offense maybe a slight difference, but even as a true freshmen Ewers was the backup to Stroud. Now there are those that thought Ewers might over take Stroud.
Plus if Card is starting, that means he has learned to be a better player and better QB which means the QB room is better. But the BMDs didn't give one 3+ million in NIL deals to sit and the other is just over 1 million. Think about that.
I saw Stroud here in SoCal during his high school years and while he was at ASU. He was also a Heisman finalist if I'm not mistaken,I don't think he was in any danger of being replaced at OSU"Ewers was the backup to Stroud."
If Ewers was the backup to Stroud, I'm sure there is a logical explanation for why 2 other QB's played in front of him when Stroud was not playing ?
