UIL Realignment

UIL did their realignment a day or so ago. Here's your Class 6A now.

Lorena and Franklin, the current 3A Div 1 & 2 state champs are now in the same district 

Denton Ryan and Aledo in the same district

China Spring and Stephenville both in the same district with Waco La Vega.

Carthage in same district with Pleasant Grove, Van, and Gilmer; now in Region 2.

Shiner and Refugio are in the same district.

Lufkin's in a district with McKinney North.

Perryton and Seminole in same district. 4 hours and 50 minutes by car.

Austin Westlake playing Fort Bend Ridge Point in non-district  in a home and home

Judson released their non conference: 

SA Johnson 
Westlake 
Pflugerville Weiss 
Hutto 
Midland Lee 

Lake Travis plays Arlington Martin and Cibolo Steele in non-district.

I get it. Thought they were further apart. Not that close, but not unreasonable.

Looks like this district will have a lot Saturday football games. And, assuming the same district for basketball games, those Tuesday night games are not going to be fun for the visiting team.

My hometown Sulphur Springs dropped down to 4A. Might have some of the nicest facilities in 4a. State ranked in basketball in 5a right now and always a playoff team in a tough baseball district. Football just hired the HC/AD from Port Neches Grove, so lots to look forward to.

Do you mean same division?  I Pleasant Grove and Gilmer in the same district and Carthage and Van in a different district,  but they are all in the same division 4A Division II

Dangerfield  is in more competitive  district. My high school team will make playoffs but will only go to first round most years,DeKalb is my high school.

Do you mean same division?  I Pleasant Grove and Gilmer in the same district and Carthage and Van in a different district,  but they are all in the same division 4A Division II

I think this is the worst I've ever seen a UIL realignment done. Some of the districts seem like they're meant to discourage participation more than anything else.

Wow.....Cleveland is 6A now? Funny how the UIL has split Cy-Fair ISD into Region 2 and 3.

Whole lotta 9-team districts, it seems. Is a Class 7A on the horizon?
