I’m underwhelmed

If either or both hudson card and casey thompson remain at Texas they sill still be the best quarterback on opening day

I hope Sark is able to resist the pressure to start Ewers sooner rather than breaking him in gradually

I am more excited by the OL 5* recruits because no pocket passer can survive or thrive without protection

the better the protection the better the offense no matter who the QB is

and it goes without saying that we need a couple of dominating defensive line players also

all of which MIGHT allow Texas to compete for a Big 12 championship next year
Just for clarification, are you saying that you are underwhelmed by Quin Ewers QB talent?

Ewers has outstanding physical talent

so did chris simms have talent and was considered a cant-miss NFL prospect

but Major Applewhite was a better QB because unlike Simms the game was not too fast for him

So is that a yes or a no to my question?

Of course Quinn will have to win the job and we have yet to see him compete at the highest level but (as Rod Babers would say - Nikki Minaj, Cardi B, Kim Kardishian sized butt) we have a lot of good reason to believe he will do just that. He competed at the highest level of high school football for an absolute football and QB factory at SLC. Watch his highlights from HS, reminds me most of Johnny Manziel with his ability to scramble around in the pocket and then fire off dimes down field. There is a reason he is one of the only HS recruits to receive a perfect ranking.

He just spent a year in a top college football program so it's not like he has to figure out the HS to college transition. If he was a true freshmen I would be more apt to agree with your assessment.

It's possible he doesn't win the starting job but I think it is more likely than not at this point.

IT saying Texas continues to look good for Ohio State transfer DB Ryan Watts.

In addition to him, they're hearing about two more transfers Texas will be a favorite for who are likely starters.

Most of Sark's transfer spots should be used on offense.

Just like every other new recruits
Yes, but other recruits do not carry his high expectations

with millions of dollars in his pocket it may be difficult for him to keep his mind on football

i will be happy to see him sitting on the bench this year if his maturity does not match his arm strength

Wouldn't be surprised to see someone like Slovis end up there. I wouldn't have minded kicking the tires on him if the Ewers thing had not panned out.
I think Texas needs a stud wide receiver either from the 2022 class or the transfer portal

and even with all of this the Horns are only one starter deep at most positions

Sark has a long way to go before entering the SEC

Chris did play in the NFL a bit longer. But Major was a better college QB.
