We gonna get any good news in recruiting?  Wild.
Not saying this as a positive or negative, but so many scenarios will be in play for June and into the fall.

This is basically going to be the recruiting version of a cooped up high school kid getting out on his own for the first time and seeing different things.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if some schools have close to a full reset on their 2022 classes.

247 mentioned yesterday Texas has a '22 kid who's considering opening it up, and June is still 10 days away.

IT mentioned today that CB Denver Harris of Galena Park North Shore had a Zoom call yesterday with multiple members of the staff, and all is still great on that end.

It's still a super tight race between Bama and Texas, but there is a small possibility that Harris will commit around July 4th when S Bryce Anderson does.

IT saying don't be surprised if the staff pushes the June 4th visit of DE/LB Derrick Brown back to the end of that month.

There is a sense that he could be a bit impressionable, so they want him to visit schools like A&M first, and they appear to be the main competition right now.

OU was a heavy favorite because of his former high school teammate, LB Clayton Smith, signing with them for the '21 class, but that's no longer the case.

The new staff is supposedly handling Brown's recruitment much better than Herman's did with Smith.

It's always smart to be extremely cautious when getting your hopes up about a highly-ranked Louisiana kid, but IT said there could be room for optimism with RB TreVonte' Citizen of Lake Charles, LA.

They're hearing LSU hasn't been handling his recruitment as well as they should be, and he'll be in Austin the first week of June for an official visit.

He might even be Coach Drayton's favorite RB prospect in the class.

Hamilton from IT added don't be surprised if several prospects' official visits are moved around based on other schools targeting them.

I think you will have about 9 months of recruiting in a normal year happen in 2 months from June to July. Going to fun and heartbreaking and euphoric all at once. I can’t wait.

Do you have any more info on Jaden Blue?

RB Travoris Jones (EP) and Jeremy Patton (Teneha) are both on commitment watch.

Oh boy a 0-2 start.

Potential upsets in 2021 season include rough start for Steve Sarkisian at Texas

Barrett Sallee: Louisiana over Texas (Sept. 4)

Sorry, Steve Sarkisian, your Texas tenure isn't going to get off to a roaring start. The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns -- fresh off of a 10-1 season and a Sun Belt title -- will roll into Austin and spring the upset in Week 1 of the college football season. Coach Billy Napier, who probably should be coaching a Power Five team at this point, has put together back-to-back double-digit win seasons, returns "super-senior" quarterback Levi Lewis, running back Chris Smith and a whopping 96% of the offensive production from last season's squad. Meanwhile, Texas' defense finished seventh in the Big 12 in total defense last year, sixth in scoring defense and has undergone a coaching transition. Yikes. Texas is going to have to score 40 to have a chance -- and it won't be able to do it.

Tom Fornelli: Arkansas over Texas (Sept. 11)

One of the things I look for when trying to identify potential upsets is an early-season game. Teams usually aren't operating at 100% efficiency yet, and are more prone to the kind of stupid mistakes good teams often have to make to lose to teams they're supposed to beat. I also look for advantageous spots in the schedule, and I think this could be one for an Arkansas team that was pretty feisty last season.

Under a new coach in Steve Sarkisian, Texas will have to open its season with a tough Louisiana team that has just about everybody back from a team that finished 10-1 last season. Arkansas gets to open the season with Rice. In other words, the Hogs get a more leisurely warmup while Sark and the Horns are in for a scrap. That could lead to Texas being ripe for an upset in Fayetteville.

But the key point in that note was that they were lower than normal with the confidence rating due to no one taking visits. If Banks is a 7/10 with no visits. That’s not bad. Campbell at a 6.5/10 with no visits is good. Cole Hutson wants to go into the business school at whatever school he attends. A good visit that highlights how loop-sided the b schools are between us, aggy, & ou, that 5/10 will likely increase. The 2022 recruiting scene is about to get turned upside down with visits. I think we will be ok with the OL once they get those guys on campus.
You might be right hope so, but the last ten years or so OL recruiting says different. I got the main point of thier post.

If Texas get a commitment from Jones IMO either Citizen is out or Blue is gone.
I think they may take three backs, for now, if they had to. So much uncertainty surrounding Blue right now. And Texas will have a decision to make soon.

Three backs would be a waste of a ship IMO. Two proven backs are returning plus Brooks. Two freshmen would make five which is about right for depth.

Do you really think Citizen is a player?

If what you wrote about Drayton is true, my assessment of him is going to dropped several notches.

Do you know the academics of Prep? How about their competition level?

Stan Drayton loves him. Drayton may be the reason we're a player here to be honest.

I think Citizen's 5'11, 200 lb frame is ripe for success as a between the tackles back, which we need.

I like Jones' film better. He seems a little more dynamic.
