Hermann needs to go

Actually, it's very possible and would likely help salvage the 2021 class, since it's currently imploding.  Herman would be reassigned and likely the official termination date would be early December.  That helps reduce the buyout from what I've read, but I'm not 100% on that.  Otherwise, if his replacement is named.....before the early signing day......and let's say it someone whose name rhymes with Bourbon Flyer, you could literally and possibly instantly have renewed interest from 2021 elite prospects as well as strong portal candidates.

Wait and watch is all I can recommend here.

Thats all too smart to be true. lol I do think you're correct on the buyout time frame.

TFB filed a post today, saying a number has now been floated out to the BMDs by UM. Its in the $10 million range. I don't think we're blinking.

I'm honestly more interested in the length of contract more than the dollar figure. I'd want a guarantee of at least 5 years before his next "health issue" crops up. Then again, it is not my money.

5 years would be good.  If he's winning big and bringing championships (newsflash:  he will)  he can call the shot if he wants to stay or leave.

Would have no problem with that number. Would have much rather had it done before the Baylor game but would also try to get it done within the next week or two.

And I'll say it again. Whoever is dealing with Urban better have their eyes wide open and better be know the difference between when someone is being sincere and when someone is bullshitting you.

if true, this is the problem with our culture, the BMD's shouldn't be going around and doing that kind of stuff. that's CDC's job.

How do you know CDC isn't in lock step with what the BMDs are doing?  All indicators are that all BMDs, the AD, BOR, and Prez are in lockstep here....unlike ever before.  Wait and watch.

Hard to believe they would hire a new coach before firing their current one. That’s not honest and it’s bad business

They were vetting/working a deal with Herman the last time they were looking. Before Strong was fired. LSU forced their hand. This time there doesn't seem to be a second party. Knock on wood.

We couldn't afford the coaching change that we're all anxious for without their money so I don't have a problem with them having more than a little involvement in the process, they're the ones who are going to have to pony up the cash to buy out Hermann and pay Urban so, personally, I'm good with them taking a little initiative.  Additionally, I don't know the numbers and am too lazy today to look them up but BMD donations don't start and stop with athletics and I'd bet good money that they put more into the academic/research side than into sports, cutting them out of the coaching search could have repercussions elsewhere.  If I'm the administration I'd keep them fat and happy and keep cashing their checks instead of pissing them off and risking losing their $$.
