Coaching Changes, Rumors, Misc.

I have to admit, this is a bit of a surprise. Aranda is a defensive guy going to an offensive minded program. Until this year, defense has been an after thought. Obviously, that will now change. But it does look like a change in philosophy has happened in Waco.

Although multiple media reports suggested that Yurcich’s departure to become Texas’ offensive coordinator was in part because Day wanted to go in a different direction, Day said Wednesday that was not the case. He said Yurcich “did a really good job” in leading Fields’ development over the course of his year with the Buckeyes, but Yurcich ultimately “couldn’t pass up” the offer from Texas, where he is set to make $1.7 million after making $950,000 at Ohio State last season.

“I thought Mike did a great job,” Day said. “We were all in alignment. And he brought great ideas.”

Might be a reason for Okam to stay in Waco.

We need to be all over McGuire rn. It makes all the sense, only thing I’m questioning is that his son is a QB at Baylor

Fortunately we have the portal so he can transfer any time he wants to so I'd say, make it happen Tom.?

Holy moley if we hire Snyder, we could have the best special teams in the country,

Snyder’s efforts earned national recognition. He was named the Special Teams Coordinator of the Year in 2015 and 2017 by national college football writer Phil Steele.

The FootballScoop website picked Snyder also picked Snyder as the Special Teams Coordinator of the Year in 2015.

If he was responsible for the success of K State's special teams, he should be able to do wonders with the athletes at UT. That could translate in to at least 1 additional win each year or at least considerable improvement in field position on the offensive side of the ball. He would definitely fit the coach em up on fundamentals part if not the recruiting part.

True, however  he's never been a position coach.
