WVU is 12-7 all time vs Texas...so often enough to beat Texas more times than not!

You never go back and tag up when there is already one out. Piss poor fundamentals on our part.

You play that halfway all day everyday. You can still get back and tag up to third if he makes the play but you can walk home if it falls.

In the bottom of the second, Texas should have put the game’s first run on the board. Zach Zubia walked and advanced to second on a balk with one out. Tate Shaw then hit a deep fly ball down the right field line that looked like it might make its way into the bullpen. It didn’t but resulted in a double. However, Zubia inexplicably hovered near second base, and got a very late jump. Pierce then sent him around third, and the slow runner was easily thrown out. 

“He wasn’t far enough. He was kind of in no-man’s land…. He needs to be far enough off that he scores easily because he’s not tagging on that ball. And once his position was where it was, I probably should have held him,” stated Pierce. “You want to score there, and it’s tough to put back-to-back hits against him. But just by his position I should have held him.”
