Football practices - any info?

Haven't played there. Last week we played Southern Trace in Shreveport. Very nice course
Well, you should.  It's been a few years since I played it, but it would be in the top five of all the courses I have played, and I have played almost all of the top courses in the country.  And it is in Louisiana, for God's sake.

Doc:  Any news/updates from practice this week?  I hope you are hearing good things.

I have been told there is apprehension and excitement both about the upcoming game.  The apprehension comes from not knowing how good the OL really is because they have been playing against our superb defense (and it is superb).  The excitement comes from believing the OL is night and day better than last years - even when CONNER was playing.

But everyone believes that Sam is the key to the season and they think he has REALLY looked good in practice.  Also, everyone should keep their eyes on Roach.  He is a beast and the offense is usually relieved when he is taken out of the scrimmage.  How many 270 lb.LB's do you know that can run and are as agile as a 225 LB?

Also, the coaches think that Young will perform much better, because of the line and Sam.  He has looked good in the scrimmages.  They also believe that Ingram is one in a hundred, but still struggles now and again with the playbook.

Hook 'em and kick the crap out of Maryland.

we finally heard from our guy at OB and he said for the first time in 7 years he feels good about the team. He said the O-line is not bad, but a big drop off between the 1's and 2's. He said Watson is the best RB by far. He said the DB's are insanely talented.

He warned that we can not afford injuries to the QB's or O-line......did not talk about LB's much at all.

His prediction...no major injuries..9-3...injury problems...8-4.

His previous predictions...2015....6-6

                                              2016-5-7

                                             2017...7-6

He has been pretty spot on since I have been following him...

I left out one other thing...about Shane. He said Shane can rip off a 25 yd lasar to a streaking WR and put it right on the money. He is amazingly accurate both down field and over the middle, but throwing the out route to either sideline (same distances) for some reason he throws wounded quail. Shane also gets down on himself and can lose confidence quickly. Not Sam...He is always confident and certain....he is just not accurate.

I think I’d be pumped for 9-3. Long as one of those 3 aren’t to Sooners

Well... burn this hype thread. @primal defense Cheers to you for not drinking the kool-aid. Only 1 game, hoping for a turn around
There is nothing to cheer about. I'd rather Doc and his confident coaches and his rich donor scouting reports had been correct and were looking at a great season. I've been drinking the kool aid for the last eight years that I couldn't drink the what Doc was serving. Some of Doc's serving of kool  aid for the last coupe of weeks were:

Behind the scenes, talk is that the coaches think this years team, excluding major injuries, is shaping up to be a real conference contender.

Our offense won't see a better defense than ours.  We are just too talented.  Don't stress on the QB's - they both are damned good and our best kept secret.

The other sites are saying neither QB is showing out that much.  I hear differently.  Trust me on this.

I was told that one of the coaches said if we can give the QB's just 3 more seconds, we will win 10 games.  Strong words, indeed.   :)

But I am being told that the coaches think they have a conference contender and are coaching with a quiet excitement.  Hell no, they aren't going to hang their necks out in pressers.  Would you?

Suffice to say - if the coaches are optimistic, I am optimistic.

Hopefully, we can turn everything around and have an enjoyable season.

Yea I wasn’t saying this to mouth doc longhorn, I def enjoy reading his stuff. When I wrote it I was in a bad mood. I’m better now lol Just sucks it appears coach speak was lies. But then again maybe it’s just 1 game! Maybe we run the table.

I'll have a little locker room and behind the scenes report a little later.

From what I read on another site, I've got a bad feeling that this report is exactly going to be a good one.
Hmmm curious now. Guess I’ll go creep my other site even though there tons of garbage to get thru to get to anything good
