Football practices - any info?

Ehlinger was the media leader because of his ability to run.  And he still may be.  But Buechele didn't come to town on a load of cabbage and may very well wind up being the starter.  Like Herman said - whichever QB gets the offense across the goal most consistently, will be the starter.  The other sites are saying neither QB is showing out that much.  I hear differently.  Trust me on this.
Thanks Doc!  My opinion has always been that the qb we trot out has everything to do with 2 other position groups: the oline (of course) & the rb.  If our line is blocking consistently well; creating lanes in the run game, and our rb's can read and hit those lanes then Buechele is probably the guy.  His accuracy is elite which only make our wr's better due to well placed balls. If our line is just as shotty or shows very little improvement and our rb's have no holes and aren't willing/can't create on their own, then Sam is the guy.  There are a lot of yards to be had for a running college qb.  And Sam is more fit for that role.  Just my opinion...

I was told that one of the coaches said if we can give the QB's just 3 more seconds, we will win 10 games.  Strong words, indeed.  :)

4 or 5 seconds as opposed to 1 or 2?

+3 seconds is an eternity against a competent pass rush and/or blitz package.

Who is starting on the OL at Right Tackle?
Latest thing I've heard is Cosmi has been working with the 1s at RT.  It's possible there could 3 or 4 new starters on the OL this year. From left to right,  Anderson, Vahe, Kerstetter, Hudson, and Cosmi.  Hell, I heard the nastiest interior group has been Imade, Kerstetter, and Hudson.  Angilau could also make a run at some point.

Our offense won't see a better defense than ours.  We are just too talented.  Don't stress on the QB's - they both are damned good and our best kept secret.
Our defense was one of the best in Big 12 last year. Didn't seem to help our offense last year.

Are QB's are not our best kept secret they are both unproven.

All summer long, Longhorn sites and the media have been talking about Ehlinger being the starter.  But I am hearing that Buechele looks like a smaller Colt McCoy.  We'll see.
That's the problem with Buechele, he has played like a smaller Colt McCoy by getting hurt all the time.

Sorry, but I do not trust on this. Every year at this time you start happy talk about the QB;s.  You were praising Tyrone Swoops along with Shawn Watson when everyone had given up on him. How did that work out?

If you keep talking up our QB's every year then one of these years you will be correct.

And then there is this from a poster over the 247 talking about Buechele.

Something clicked for him. He had the swagger of a Texas starting QB all day. He exhibited the fastest reads I’ve seen from a QB wearing a Texas jersey in a decade. Coaches noticed the work and swagger. Once he earned his spot with the first team it appeared he was rewarded for it. He had the vast majority of first team snaps for the first time in a long time.

I'm not privy to practices, so I only quote what I am told.  As far as Tyrone, who else would you have suggested should have played in front of him?  Heard?  And when did I praise Watson?  By-the-way, Swoopes was the leading scorer/rusher on the team his last year here.  Tells you a lot about how bad the team was.

You can believe me or not - I'm not paid to report backside info, I just do it for board interest.  If it upsets you I will quit doing it.

You can't have it both ways.  Bashing Swoopes, who stayed erect his entire career or bashing Buechele for being hurt all the time.  There seems to be no way to please you.

Doc......just so you know....I appreciate whatever you have to pass along. This being an internet message board, each of us can accecpt/reject any and all information that comes our way. This is after all the equivalent of overhearing a conversation a conversation at the racetrack and rushing over to place bets.....

At any rate, Thanks for giving us something to read during this dead period where we are desperate for any word whatever.

By the way....when I posted on another site that Buschele might be a surprise this year, a guy that is also well connected told me that his passes on out routes still looked like a wadded piece of paper on a windy day.

Keep it coming Doc...What else are we going to read to keep us from going crazy for the next 16 lousy days?
