Report: Chris Warren To Transfer From Texas

I would have been stunned if Warren did NOT transfer at the end of the season.

If I were advising him, I would suggest he call Chuck Strong and Sterlen Gilbert.  He looked like a future NFL player in that system.

How long until Shane Buechele announces his transfer?

All things considered, I like Shane. He's been a stand up guy, done what he's been asked to do and I believe he's given everything he has.

I hope he does not choose to transfer.

All that said, I think I finally zeroed in on the "it" factor I accused Buechele of not having. Its the on-field demeanor. At times, Shane looks hopeless. Like he really doesn't believe he's going to win. Sam always saw hope or at least played like his hair was on fire. Players fed off that.

While there wasn't much difference, talent-wise, between the two. The difference was/is meaningful between the ears, despite the one-year difference.

Rising and Thompson will be very, very good. But they will be freshmen. I'm tired of seeing freshmen start. But at the same time, I want the best player to play, period.

Should be a very interesting off season.

He has been a disappointment.  I tip my hat to you for your ability to maintain homer ship while being objective.

I have mixed feelings about TH's arrogance that has been referenced in this thread.  Nobody loves arrogance (see Baker Mayfield) BUT somebody has to slap the entitlement out of a large part of the Texas roster.  I am beginning to think the 'pee chart' isn't so much about science or performance but a method by which he is able to locate players who are not willing to be disciplined (coached).

Let us hope Texas doesn't lose any offensive linemen to attrition/transfer.  I don't think Texas can endure another season of an inexperienced line.
I know some will disagree with me but I saw a lot of lack of execution in not only the Tech game but others this year. Last Friday the players seemed content on the fact they were bowl eligible.

Herman had a group of players at Houston that nobody gave a chance of winning yet they did cause they were hungry. At Texas, I'm thinking he had a group of players that expected to win but weren't as hungry.

Heart counts, more than some may think.

Do you honestly believe that Herman would make that change after 1 season?  That would mean like 5 OC's in 4 seasons? PLUS, that's Herman admitting he made a mistake out the gate.  I just don't see it...
Absolutely I think it is possible.  There were enough coaching gaffes on the offensive side this season to warrant it.  It needs to be fixed sooner rather than later and Texas can't let another season go by with mediocre offensive play. It is also worth rekindling the fact that Tom Herman is known as an offensive mind - and the buck stops with him.

Firing a coordinator after one year is in essence saying "I messed up at one of my primary responsibilities."  Not sure if Herman will be able to pull that cord.

I don't what level to call this but my brother-in-law's brother (for real) lives in Arlington and knows the Buechele's. We had our family Thanksgiving gathering over the weekend and I talked to the BIL's brother. He told me that he had talked the Buechele's within the last week or so and that it sounded like to him that Shane was definitely considering transferring but that nothing definite had been decided.

Perhaps what you mean by "it factor" is really just confident demeanor.  After OU and OSU back to back, I would have MUCH rather had Shane on the field late in games.... I was almost expecting the last interception against Tech... that isn't an "it factor" by my definition.  I find it hard to label someone with the "it factor" who handed away several games late in the fourth quarter / overtime.

I hope this year hasn't damaged Sam's growth.  There is much there to like.

If he aspires to play football, he will transfer.  This coaching staff obviously prefers Sam's skillset to Shane's.  I wouldn't blame Shane for transferring simply because he doesn't have the run threat for Herman's offense.  When a new coach comes in with a new system, this has to be expected.

"Forever bleeding Orange"..............but transferring ...................OOOOOOOOOOOOOOK.

Herman seems a bit full of himself and won't admit that the Beck hire was a mistake.  He won't be backed into a corner on that one and will come out like a cornered raccoon.
