Some of you might remember the name Tyler Moore (Galena Park North Shore), who was part of the 2015 recruiting class (he played with current Texas RB Tristian Houston). We covered his recruitment fairly closely here on the site.
Moore held what amounted to a grayshirt offer from Texas when Joe Wickline was handling those responsibilities and ultimately committed to Minnesota over Texas, Oregon State, Colorado, Kansas and Illinois. He pulled the trigger and enrolled early at Minnesota in January, 2015.
Since then he has started upwards of 20 consecutive games at center for the Gophers (one of the few true freshmen to start at center in the Big 10) and is currently weighing in at 317 lbs on a 6'4 frame. Moore had 125 pancakes this year on the field.
Some of you have been following the situation at the Minnesota Football program. Not sure if Tyler's decision was directly related to this, but he's announced his transfer intentions.
I do know his goal is to get back down South to play football and teams are going to be moving pretty fast on this.
I'll keep this thread updated as I hear what the possibilities are for him at other schools, but I've been told many Big 12 schools are ALREADY showing an interest.
He will have to sit out a year wherever he plays, but some team will be getting a proven performer on the O-Line.
Academically Moore is a junior and has a mid-3 GPA.
