Chris Simms

As I said to the "class act" above, I guess it comes down to how a player performs when the lights are brightest.
IMHO, having "class" has nothing to do with how you perform in a big game. You can be a jerk with no class and be a champion. You can be a really nice person and never win a game. Simms had a lot of adversity while at Texas and personally I think for the crap he was dealt with, he handle it with class.

Yes, Simms had a bad game that night in Dallas. I was there and really thought Texas would handle CU easily. However he didn't but then he wasn't on the field when the CU running backs were gaining what seemed to be 8 yards a carry against the Texas defense either.

One last comment about Simms. Remember the game at KSU when Texas finally beat them up their for the 1st time in the Big XII era? He jammed his finger, turned out later it was a really bad jam, he went to the sidelines, the trainers fixed it and he went back in. You also have to remember the pro game where he played with a ruptured spleen.

Just so you know, I didn't care who started at QB back then. Maybe I'm stupid or naive or both but I trusted Brown the Texas coaching staff to make the right decision. Both Applewhite and Simms had their bright spots and both had their flaws and both only wanted to play a game they love.

I'm out. Have a Merry Christmas sir.

I wouldn't go as low to compare a fellow Longhorn on this board too an Aggie and throw personal insults at them, but apparently you're a special breed. Considering how sensitive you are, maybe you should go hang out on their boards. Way to keep it classy. Grow up.

No, you threw a player under the bus. . . .with lies, half truths and the idiot idea that the only "big games" were ones we lost.   Which makes the "classy" comment ironic in a manner beyond your limited IQ.

Speaking of needing to grow up or grow a brain . . . . .

Aggie.  . .if the shoe fits.  . . .wear it. . .

Yeah, I'm sensitive.  . .sensitive to aggie trolls shitting on TEXAS players.  . . .

Sorry for the misunderstanding, tejas. The "class act" I was referring to was echeese. I really was congratulating you on having a reasonable conversation without having to revert to vulgar personal attacks. As for your comments, true, Simms definitely showed his toughness over the years with respect to pain tolerance.

Merry Christmas to you as well.

Oh echeese, at this point I just feel sorry for you. I hate to disappoint you, but I'm a Longhorn, not an aggie troll.

As much as I enjoy this back and forth, it's not worth my time. Hopefully you get some professional help for you personal/emotional problems. You clearly need it.
