Herman on if he dreamed of being in a position like Mack Brown: "I don't know if I ever dreamt that big. I knew I wanted to be a head coach. As a coach, you're so focused on the day to day task, you don't have time to dream very often."

Herman: "I've reached out to coach Brown on numerous occasions for many different reasons. I did not get to talk to him about this because it happened so fast."

Herman: "The Texas fan base is no different than other fan bases at other big schools. They want to win, and we welcome that."

Herman: "I love the players. That's what I love about coaching. What I did yesterday to tell the players I was leaving was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I am not ashamed to admit that I cried in front of every single one of them."

Herman: "Nobody gets into coaching for the money. It's about molding young men's lives."

for me, he basically stated and stumbled on the right things to say.  he's not as polished as mac was.  i would put him on par with strong.  in fact, i think he was more nervous than strong.  i think as the press conference went on he became more comfortable.

i'm hoping for success on the field but let's see how it goes.

he's not as polished as mac was.  

While herman looked a little nervous or anxious at times I think he handled himself very well.

Strong always seemed to me to be unprepared when talking to the public.  Basically just winging it with a lot of filler comments such as "When you look at it" or "Just when you think about it"

IMO Herman is more polished than Strong ever was in the spotlight
