***Official Update Thread***

Reports are out there that Oscar Giles and Corby Meekins were on the plane today with Herman. Looks like they are going to be joining him in Austin. Meekins is the former head coach at Westfield high school in Houston and played a huge role in landing Ed Oliver.
Isn't Meekins a TE coach? I assume that would shut the door on Brewster.

As more reports stream in, it seems increasingly likely that Herman is more or less bringing in his staff from Houston.

Herman bring on Meekins and still go after Brewster. One can coach RBs and another TEs. As much as it makes sense to keep him, Traylor may be the odd man out.

If Traylor is the odd man out, I hope he doesnt end up at a big 12 opponent. He is killing it in east texas..

What about Meekins, Brewster, and Wyatt doing their thing and Traylor choaching QBs - is that too many?

Also - it's early I know but not too early to wonder why we wouldn't be concerned and give Herman hell for bringing his unproven no-star staff when we gave Strong such hell for bringing his?

A lot of speculation right now.  I'll reserve judgment until the staff is actually in place.

I wouldn't get your hopes up on Traylor staying and with Meekins coming into be the TE coach there is little space left for Traylor.

Brewster is also still a hell of a recruiter and I think getting a guy like Joey McGuire (HC for Cedar Hill) would be a good option as well

You don't get McGuire with Brewster and Meekins, no room.

I am personal friends with McGuires wife. He is heading somewhere. He only stayed this year at CH because his son was going to be a senior. He had the TE job at UT last year if he wanted it. If he doesn't get a gig at UT look for him to go to Kansas. He is close to their HC. But UT is his dream. FYI, he would probably coach any position they wanted at UT.

He's among my favorite coaches in the state, and he will be a nightmare as a recruiter.

Talk of a super staff always happens, but rarely works out.  Coaches like to work with guys they trust.  You just hpe they trust the right guys.
