Being confirmed everywhere. Apparently Tom Herman told them this morning that he was leaning towards the Texas job. It's all academic at this point folks.

Good for Coach O though. Got passed over for the USC gig and now he is going to make a run at hiring the guy to his staff who got that job (Kiffin).

No idea, but I doubt they get into a spat over money at this point. We guessed it would take around 6 million.

A bit. Probably not that much though. I'm expecting Texas to offer Herman somewhere around 5.75 mill per year. I don't know that LSU would have pushed much beyond that.

I'm happy for Coach O. I felt USC should have given Coach O the job when he was interim for them. He has a way with his players and it's proven in wins.

An uninspiring hire, IMO, but I'm sure Bama's fans are smiling. I just enjoy listening to Ed O talk. Always sounds like he has a mouthful of gumbo.

Who needs to be inspired though? The fans? Or the players he went 5-2 with who responded very positively to the notion of playing for Coach O?

Both, IMO, since you asked. Bama is the SEC benchmark and LSU laid an egg against them.
