UPDATE 11AM

Starting to see a lot of reports out there on Herman. Nothing yet confirmed on our end but we've said all along to be patient and things would move fast once the game ended. That timeline is on schedule. It appears to be academic from here. Enjoy your Saturday.

----------

Per multiple outlets, Texas will meet with Tom Herman tomorrow in regards to the Head Coaching position. We actually heard this information early today, but were trying to confirm it with more sources. Now that it's out, we feel comfortable running with it. If all goes according to plan, we expect Texas to wrap this up as quickly as possible. As we told you this week, things wouldn't really get started until the weekend.

FootballScoop reported that Herman is looking for total control of the football program, and his camp is not looking to negotiate. We continue to hear that Herman covets this job among all others, and if Texas wants him (and agrees to his terms) they will have him. We'll follow up tomorrow with our people to see how things went.

I'm not counting on shit anymore until official announcements are made. I do love the updates though, it's been the only thing to get excited about this season.

If Herman wanted the LSU job he would have taken it already.

If he is to be the next coach with 'total' control, I would have one stipulation: do not mess with the uniforms.

Don't be a Kingsbury

I sincerely hope that the powers to be are wise enough to give whomever they hire full control of the football program. There needs to be one chief and get everybody out of the way.

So the boosters/BMDs will be convinced to get out of the way?😜

Winning immediately is about the only way I can think of that would put the donors on their heels.

If the next coach comes in and wins immediately any interference by the donors would be met with hostility by the alumni and fans.

They can tell Herman he will have "total control of the football program" but that will never happen, not sure it's ever happened at Texas. His camp tried to force (at least expedite) Texas hand yesterday and that won't go over well and the Memphis game won't do much positive for his negotiations. Our brain trust may be dim witted but they are prideful (great combination) so he might want to tap the brakes with the limited options available at this time. The BMD's fall in and out of love fairly often.

Do we have to post the job for 5 days before anything is official?

And since I am pissing and moaning I want the burnt orange back. Burnt orange is flat, a very brown orange.

This team will go back to looking like Tennessee if we don't stay ever vigilant.

Was the uniform color different today, brighter?
It has been getting more orange and less burnt orange for some time.

The Astros are orange but their 'orange' jerseys are like orange-coral or orange-mango.

Blasphemy

We will soon find out if last night's very loud message was received by the folks in Austin. If the man wants "Saban like" control of the program, then Texas would be wise to meet that demand if that want him as their coach.
