Screw it. Think I'll start now just in case.
While he is the head coach, I think at some point you have to put the responsibility on the shoulders of the players to perform. These guys are not sub-par baseball players and athletes. You may be right in your assessment of Augie, but you put someone else in his position, they still have to depend on the on-field performance of the players.Augie is killing his legacy. He stayed too long. He has Mack Brown syndrome. " He is fixing it".
not with 6 walks and 3 errors. Not to mention picking up a bunt rolling foul.Scoring 3 runs won't win many games. Seems to be a trend.
who expects it to be different? We can all hope for a turnaround, but after 40% of the season I doubt many if any expect it.Baseball games are generally determined, in large part, by the starting pitcher that day. UT has somehow figured out how to minimize the effectiveness of their own starters and enhance the oppositions. One thing is for certain, entering conference play, this is the least effective bullpen I've seen in awhile. I thought the bullpen would be sorted out by this time, but that hasn't happened. This is two weekends in a row that I expected better results and to expect anything different, just b/c conference play begins, seems blissfully naive.
Recruiting isn't the problem.Joey said

As I have said several times before our talent level is not good. You can't expect guys to outperform their capability very often.
We are not under performing, we are just what we are. Our recruiting is abysmal.
That's because top 100 recruits are somewhat worthless now.Noticed something interesting in the recruiting links above.
In 2011, Texas had 7 of the top 100 recruits.
In 2012, Texas had 6 of the top 100 recruits.
In the next 4 years combined, 2013-2016, Texas had a total of 6 top 100 recruits with there being none, that's zero, in 2014.
So I'm leaning toward thinking that recruiting is not so hot.
