ICYMI, Stephon Taylor committed to South Carolina.  Jordan Elliott is the lone target left on the board.  Irvin Smith is slated to announce/sign at 3:15 PM and Alabama is the likely destination for him.

Mike are rumors about Irvin Greyshirt true?

1st question, how many of the 2016 recruits make significant contributions in 2016?

Collin Johnson, 2-3 of the DTs though no clue which, Fowler, McCullough (another question on him in a second) Brandon Jones. . . who else?

2nd, speaking of. . . with Fowler in and D-Jack to FSU .. . .does McCullough go to Mike so MJ can slide outside?

3rd . . .we fliped an OU, an LSU, did we flip an aggie or just win multiple head to heads?   We lost one to Baylor (sucked but Curtis is a great consolation prize).  . .any other flips?

4th,. . . . .has a coach ever a) gone back to back losing seasons and still land back to back Top 10 classes and  B)  go from 39 in the rankings to Top 10 on signing day?

1) It would depend on your definition of significant.  I would say the following guys have an impact next season: Fowler, McCulloch, Jones, Curtis, Collin Johnson, and one of the defensive tackles.

2) I would guess Fowler to Mike before McCulloch, but I think the more likely scenario is a mix and match situation where you see those guys constantly moved around to attack the offense from different positions.  Also remember you have Edwin Freeman, Breckyn hager, and Anthony Wheeler still in the mix.  I'm not worried about an inside guy since Texas spends a lot of time in a split look without a traditional Mike.

3) Flips from Georgia (Curtis), Oklahoma (Chris Daniels, Jean Delance) Michigan (Elliott), LSU (Fowler), Kansas State (Shackelford)

4) I can't say for sure, but I'd doubt it.

Perhaps you missed it last season when teams like TT, OSU and Baylor ran all over TEXAS . . .heck even Rice.

TEXAS needs a real Mike to man the middle. . . heck Baylor damn near beat us without a QB.

Thanks.

Good work today. . . .

They might, but the Texas defense rarely lines up in a non split alignment.  Maybe they need a bigger guy but they rarely use a true mike.
