Sumlin taking the gloves off?
It seems rather strange, given this day and age (and conference), but apparently Kevin Sumlin doesn't like negative recruiting. We have heard from several sources this week, however, that reality trumps personal preference and A&M's head coach and other staff members are going to be going scorched earth when it comes to talking to several commits and top targets about other programs that have targeted A&M in a negative way over the past couple of months. You can bet that one of those programs that will get the hammer will be 5-7 Texas, which has had no compunction about taking shots at Sumlin and A&M. The Aggies have their chance to return serve this weekend and intend to do it. Stay tuned.

And do you think Mark jackson is ours as well?

My conversation was cut short today as I was at the range about to take my range test for LTC.

I expect to talk to him tomorrow and I will make sure to ask about Jackson.

Looking forward to hearing about it tomorrow 👌

Might as well, everyone is talking about him. Hudson. My friend thinks he's ours now.
I hope your source is right because right now OB, 247 and all the Baylor sites seem to think he is 100% Baylor still. Also I don't remember which site said it but apparently he was interested in us after his visit but his sister basically talked him out it. So who knows. Should be a fun 11 days.

Can't believe I forgot this. Obi is gone. He's Stanford bound. I think Roach eluded to this in a different thread.

Cobb was/is a backup plan. Cuffie is working him, staff really likes him.

They see Cobb as a lock-down corner. They see Obi as the ideal size with comparable skills. But they think Cobb is closer to the finished product right now.

Kinda up in the air right now though. Hopefully, they can get him in for a visit and let the cookie crumble as it may after that.

There's so many conflicted stories with Cobb right now. It seems a lot of the stuff is behind the scenes. It sucks losing obi but we'll be fine

Dbook, I understand your source and mine had dinner together this evening. Along with a popular web personality. Small world.

Eric Fowler – some backstory . . . I did not know this until today, but Desmond Jackson and Fowler are step-brothers. We had some ground to make up with Fowler from the start due to some negative vibes from the perception that our coaches favored the young guys. Just didn't sit well for a while with Fowler's dad, having watched Jackson and the defense this year. Coaches have made up that ground and more. The film room presentation where Fowler's role was broken down in film and whiteboard . . made a big impression . . lasting impression. Based on what I know now, I expect Fowler to be in this class. We'll see after the visit to LSU. Credit should also go to Derrick Roberson, who did a great job of recruiting Fowler, too.

Was told that we have one more OL addition to this class. We are going to be a very talented bunch there. Young. But very talented. Imagine them in two years. The Shackleford situation is perfect. Early enrollee, time to grow up in the system the moment they begin to implement. So he'll have the same time with it as everyone else. This relieves Vahe of having to make that move, which he does not want to make at all. One veteran OL who has yet to really contribute may be told to explore his options.

We have FIVE DLs that are giving us serious consideration. I can see us getting 3 of the 5, minimum.
Do we have room IF and that's a big IF all 5 wants to come on board

I dare him to try it see how far it takes him

I know everyone thinks he is a lock and he very well may end up at Texas but no way his mind is made up if he is visiting aggie 11 day from NSD. This could go either way right now.

That has "blow up in their face" written all over it.

Of course, I think it's BS. Sounds more like a writer is getting tired of writing stories about the Great Exodus.

I would like to think Sumlin is smarter than that. Aggy's misery wasn't caused by Texas. But I have over estimated aggy before, many times. lol

"Those programs"...?

Referring to the Board of Regents, the President, Athletic Director, Coaching staff??

Or just beat writers, bloggers, talk show hosts and fan boards?

There's a difference.

Players take visits.

B. Jones is visiting Arkansas.

Lil Jordan Humphrey is visiting Wisconsin-I honestly didn't even know they were recruiting him.

Daniels is visiting Tennessee.

DCG is visiting aggy.

D Jackson is visiting Alabama.

M. Jackson is visiting aggy.

Irvin Smith is visiting Alabama.

Cuffee is visiting Arkansas.

Hudson is visiting Georgia.

Stephon Taylor is visiting FSU.

Anderson is visiting Ole Miss.

Chambers is visiting Miami.

Southhall is visiting Miami.

Fowler is visiting LSU.

Literally everyone we are after is taking a visit. Sometimes there might be legitimate interest when someone takes a visit, but most of the time it's just what recruiting is today. Kids take visits. McCulloch would be at Alabama this weekend with Dontavious Jackson if they wouldn't have essentially told him no thanks.

Which proves my point. They're on a visit and can be swayed because they are not 100% sure where they want to go just yet.  But I understand your point.
