So aggie mods think they're going to finish Strong and most Longhorn mods think we're going to finish strong. One fanbase will will have a meltdown come NSD the other will throw a part. Should be fun. I hope I am in the party group.

http://tamu.247sports.com/Reply/43014548)Both Strong and Stoops used their in home with him last night, which is great news for us considering Sumlin will be the last of the 3 to go in home with him. His visit to campus this weekend is huge.
Per an aggie poster

Xterminator No it's not great news. There is a huge chance he's not even coming in this weekend. This is about $$ at this point.

A&M will have to over pay to keep him at this point. I don't see us doing that.

Poster on another site summarized Liucci's latest update:

Irvin Smith - aggy is cautiously optimistic, but working overtime just to hang on to him.

Mark Jackson - Serious risk to flip, OUsucks and Texas are trying to get him to cancel his OV to aggy, and he just might.

Brandon Jones - Texas and baylor have worked themselves into a three way tie with aggy for Jones services

Jeffrey McCulloch - Texas / aggy battle with ND and Stanford on the outside looking in

Pat Hudson - aggy is way behind and may not even get a visit.  Texas / Baylor battle

Eric Cuffee - Hard Texas lean, may commit and cancel his aggy OV

In Liuccis final analysis - he thinks McCulloch and Jones split between Texas/aggy, but Liucci isn't sure which one goes where...

LMAO LAWD JESUS bless their heart

Also if this class can finish around 10th and Strong can get a top 8 class in 2017. I believe the roster will be good enough in 2018 for a nice run.
i was thinking this yesterday too.  the problem is, will he get that chance.  this is only his 2nd full recruiting cycle and with everyone calling for 9 wins for him to continue, i can only hope that he gets that chance.

if we get the "reggie predicted class" or something close to it, the 2017 class will be just as good.  i agree we need to show progress on the field, otherwise you'll have everyone saying, "yeah, he got a great recruiting class but it is not reflected on the field".  so we definitely need to show progress from the 5-7 record this year.  i just don't think it has to be 9 wins in order for him to continue.  stability and patience.

just my opinion.

Not only does Harbaugh pulls his offer a couple of weeks before NSD, but he doesn't even have the guts to tell him. I hope this cost Harbaugh future recruits. Come on down Elliott!

"I called again (Tuesday) and was told that there were no spots left by Coach Drevno," Swenson said. "I tried to talk to Coach Harbaugh, but he didn't want to talk to me."

Football recruiting: Downers South OT Erik Swenson has offer pulled from Michigan

Erik Swenson proudly showed his loyalty to Michigan for more than two years, but now unexpectedly is without a college.

The Downers Grove South offensive tackle announced Wednesday via Twitter that he will re-open his commitment after Michigan pulled his scholarship offer. The 6-foot-7, 310-pound Swenson, a four-star recruit, admitted the news caught him by surprise.

Swenson committed to then-Michigan coach Brady Hoke on Nov. 25, 2013, and remained loyal throughout a troubled period for the Wolverines until Jim Harbaugh resurrected the program this past season. Swenson was the first player to commit to Michigan's Class of 2016, which now has 22 recruits.

Swenson, whose room at home is adorned with Michigan posters, said he spoke with Wolverines offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Tim Drevno about a month ago.

"He said, 'Get ready to play for us and keep working and getting stronger and faster. We're looking forward to you playing for us.'

"Fast forward a month," Swenson continued, "they called me last week saying I should re-open my recruitment and take other visits. My family and I were shaken by it. That's when the whole mess started."

Swenson said he called Drevno twice this week, asking if he still had a scholarship to Michigan. The first question was answered with a maybe.

"I called again (Tuesday) and was told that there were no spots left by Coach Drevno," Swenson said. "I tried to talk to Coach Harbaugh, but he didn't want to talk to me."

Swenson is now caught in a time crunch because National Signing Day is Wednesday, Feb. 3. Most colleges prefer to have recruits sign on or near that date. Swenson is scheduled to play in the International Bowl on Jan. 31 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

He said he plans to leave for the game on Jan. 26. The contact period for college coaches to visit and talk with potential recruits ends on Jan. 30.

Swenson, the No. 6 senior prospect in the state in 247Sports' composite recruiting rankings, said Northwestern, Illinois, Minnesota, Vanderbilt, Colorado, Washington State and Central Michigan had already offered him scholarships by mid-afternoon Wednesday. He had yet to return calls to UCLA, Penn State and Arkansas, among others.

"This is my only true weekend to visit schools, so this is my only true opportunity to talk to coaches," Swenson said. "This is the first day of recruiting for me. I feel like I'm back to my sophomore year again.

"It's been a crazy day. I haven't been off my phone."

In August, Downers Grove South coach Mark Molinari talked extensively about Swenson's loyalty.

"Erik is just a really loyal individual," Molinari said. "Once he makes up his mind, he sticks with it."

Swenson prefers not to "burn any bridges" and say anything negative about Harbaugh or his staff. He's focused on finding a new school.

"I was kind of taken aback in the beginning, but that's how those coaches are," he said. "There's nothing you can change about them. They believe that's how you should run the university and what's best for the team. I was taken aback.

"I fully intended to play there. I was nothing but loyal and was committed over two years. I helped them recruit several guys that are still there. I just felt used."

I am surprised we have so many A&M followers on this board. As soon as they moved to the $EC, they were dead to me. I even deleted my large collection of aggie jokes. In fact, this very post is the first time I can even remember mentioning those clodhoppers since then.

Though I don't disagree with you they are our biggest recruiting rival in the state. We both are targeting the same top guys.

Two Questions:

1- Any news on Fowler? I like Mark Jackson, but Fowler is a game changer.

2- Does the pressure of landing a spot start making these "silent commits" and others start to go public? (I feel like our numbers have to be getting tight even if half of these rumors are true)
