Same trainer as above (Hooks) on OL Waahid Muhammad (Tulsa commit) who he also works with --

“I train the little guys, but Waahid wanted to be out here to get better on his footwork.  I had him do our drills, and he was fluid. He’s really athletic and was a former basketball player. You can’t teach his size either.

“I think he would be a great fit in the new system at UT.  He’s really intrigued by UT, and if they get in on him, he could be a gold mine.  He has so much potential.  So much potential.â€

Can you imagine Burt, Johnson and Lil'Jordan as a receiving unit?

Johnnie Johnson on son WR Collin Johnson --

“To be that size and to be as athletic as he is phenomenal.  He’s 6-foot-6 (200lb + 36" vertical) and I think he’s going to end up 6-foot-7.â€

Johnnie sees Calvin Johnson. “His ability to be able to adjust on the deep ball, I’ve only seen in the NFL.   You don’t usually see it in high school, and there are only a handful of guys in college that can do that.â€

“Anytime you single (Collin) on the weak side that’s going to be a tough matchup.   I assure you there won’t be many teams that will leave him single covered because of the jump ball.  He’s going to win most of those battles.â€

“He’s competitive as they come.  You’re looking at a complete wide receiver.â€

Bobby Burton on TRob --

" ..... When Robinson told Charlie Strong of the USC job offer, Strong did not attempt to keep Robinson. There was no counter offer, no "we really want you here" speech. There was nothing other than a "good luck" exchanged. Further, Robinson's contract was up at the end of January and he had not been told whether or not it would be renewed. In coaching circles, it's a head coach's polite way of telling you to go try to find another job....."

Could someone talk about the difference between an Official Visit compared to an Unofficial Visit.  I know the UOV is on the player's dime...but I am wondering what happens in the scenario where there is a large group of OVs and then a player also comes as a UOV.  Does the UOV player get to participate in all of the same activities as the OV players do...i.e. -basketball game and dinner at Charlie's?

Just wondering...

Burton making some conciliatory remarks about Strong's recruiting --

" .......  So I feel like I can tell whether or not a team's recruiting momentum coming off of a recruiting weekend is real or merely wishful thinking.  The Longhorns' momentum is very real.  What's more, the momentum is happening at the positions of biggest need and with the biggest and best prospects remaining on the Texas board. I don't know how this recruiting class will turn out. No one really does. But I know that I continue to be impressed with Strong as a recruiter. He's going after guys that can make a difference for Texas.  And he's doing it relentlessly.

If he signs another top 10 class, I think it's time for folks who worry about making more early offers to certain players or who think Texas recruiting is disorganized to realize that there's a method to Strong's madness. At the end of the day, recruiting is about getting players into your program, not necessarily how you go about doing it."

The rules are strict.  Remember Lodge last season?  He snuck in on an UOV and while in Austin (with Murray), we provided his lunch.  He wanted to come back later for an OV but couldn't because of that lunch.

This is going to be a long 2 weeks until NSD. If Strong wants to build out a successful program then he will need to pull this off.

Higs thinks Irv Smith is still committed to aggy

But, if he does flip, it will be to Texas

He also OVs Alabama this weekend

Sounds like his mom is taking off work to attend this visit with him

Dunno about the sister

One bad note, TRob was the lead recruiter for Hudson.  Whoever it was that talked to the mom says she was asking about this.

I can see why they didnt want Wickline recruiting him directly but Mattox will have the chance now to make his own impression on them.  Is Mattox a closer?

Do you know which site is reporting that?  Posters on the shag have said Higdon just confirmed that Hudson's sister and mother did not make the trip.
