DONT WATCH IT DRJust got home from my nephews wedding. Guess I recorded the game, guess I should just delete it and wait till next week
"They literally ran the ball down our throats. And because the run worked, they were able to pass effectively when they wanted to. Same thing our offense should have been doing." Whaaaaaat?! Using the run to open up the pass?! That is a revolutionary concept that you should sent to Charlie and Norvell IMMEDIATELY since they apparently haven't even considered such a concept. In the post two game winning streak the coaches and players seemed content with stopping all other developments in favor of the run run run game. I mean I think I read that Norvell said that he didn't care about the passing stats as long as the run was working. Well one dimensional teams get beaten, that simple. No, I don't think you fire Charlie Strong. So there, RD. Someone replied to your repeated comment. You fire the whole staff then you just compound misery with self-inflicted agony. There are some damned good coaches on this staff.
I do think, if I'm Charlie Strong, I'd give Jeff Traylor some play calling duties. Not all, but some. See what happens.
I agree with someone above in that I don't think you see the same effort from the Jrs/Srs as you do the frosh/sophs. That bothers me. I'd rather play a walk on than a senior with no pride in himself.
Heard either shows something, quick, or I expect Buechele and Locksley to be our next QB. I burn Locks' shirt to find out what I have in him. One thing with Locks that I am very interested in seeing translate on the field – he's a coaches son. He's got a built-in mentality that I think works. See Colt McCoy.
Someone above mentioned that Heard is scared to throw downfield. I think he's right. Heard needs to come to terms with that or go have a seat.
Defensively, I think our scheme was fine. We just got our tails beat. They literally ran the ball down our throats. And because the run worked, they were able to pass effectively when they wanted to. Same thing our offense should have been doing.
