Remember the USC Song Girl that was cheering as we scored in the National Championship game? That was epic, but at least she was just a college girl. These people are supposed to be pro's. Amazing.
There's a good chance aggie will lose in court. Technically, Chavis' contract with LSU didn't terminate until February 4th. If so, why is he out recruiting Daylon Mack & others for aggie - a SEC West division rival - on January 28th?If the aggies lose in court, I would fine that very enjoyable, but what would you expect from hiring aggie lawyers. Since I don't like either of these teams, as far as I'm concerned the more nasty this fight the better.

This is gonna get ugly and fun! Can you say, "tortious interference"?

Hmmm...so you're saying Chavis is okay as long as no aggie checks were deposited into his bank account prior to February 5th? InterestingI did read where one Louisiana lawyer said that was not associated with the case that as long as Chavis was not on the aggie payroll and that time they were okay.
As far as I've be able to gather from reading some other sites, it's not that simple. There's only a couple of ways this could have happenedI did read where one Louisiana lawyer said that was not associated with the case that as long as Chavis was not on the aggie payroll and that time they were okay.
Who says LSU wasn't willing to pay "fair market value" to retain Chavis? Sumlin wasn't able to field a defense in three years and he decided to spend seemingly desperation money to bring in a big name DC. The possibility exists LSU didn't want to overpay and aggy was willing to overpay.I don't expect to win this case, but shocker here, I agree with primal defense in that LSU isn't handling this well. What coach would want to come to LSU in the future when they are being sticklers about the buyout when they weren't willing to pay fair market value to retain the coach. It isn't like Chavis acted unloyal in this whole situation, he gave LSU a chance to counter and made his best effort to ensure that any distractions weren't public until after the LSU bowl game.
A lawyer in Louisiana said it, I have no idea. In the real world Chavis started working for the aggies before the 30 days limit and the aggies should have to pay, but this is the lawyer world.Hmmm...so you're saying Chavis is okay as long as no aggie checks were deposited into his bank account prior to February 5th? Interesting
NCAA member schools don't declare violations. They report perceived violations to the NCAA for determination of a violation. Reporting each other to the NCAA is a longstanding SEC tradition. NCAA rules say only full-time staff members can recruit. Chavis' claim is be wasn't a full time aggybstaff member until Feb 13. Interesting problem the aggys have created for themselves. One could almost say they have aggyed this up.So if it doesn't benefit LSU they will declare a violation; if it benefits LSU questionnable activity will be brushed under the rug. SEC school, or at least media, now whining about shady activity...LOL. Suck it SEC.
