Not fast enough.
Against the team I broadcast for he split his time at LB and NG.
Against a all power run team in the playoffs he played NG.
He is thickly built. I have only seen him in a couple TV games, but he played very quick, I thought

I'm guessing that we are going to have to wait until NSD before we get anymore commits? They probably are reserving their spot with CFS before hand?

Jay has being doing work since getting here! Can't wait to see how an entire recruiting cycle looks with him onboard.
I know the Ags still love him but Kevin may see this and not like it lol. JM is the last person I would want my kid taking ANY advice from.

As my first post on this site, I want to throw this summary out and see what you guys think. As it stands right now, I understand we have 15 solid commitments plus Merrick as a grey shirt, Davis and Burt as soft commits, Major as a potential grades casualty, and six early enrollees. Assuming I haven’t missed something we have 10 openings in limbo right now.
Since the remaining 10 scholarships need to be allocated somewhat by position, I sorted the known possibilities by position and added a few amateur comments:
QB Locksley Maybe our highest priority. We need at least 1, plus Merrick.
DB Boyd, Hill, Baker, Redwine, Davis We need at least 3.
RB Warren, Brossette, Jamabo We need at least 1.
WR Reed, Burt Reed’s GPA is iffy. We need at least 1.
OL Major High priority if he qualifies. 1.
If we get the 7 we need from this group, we’ll have 3 more slots available for wild cards:
Murray/Mack/Lodge I suspect we get all 3 or none.
The wild card guys would either fill out our class or leave us with 3 rides available for Merrick, some as yet unknown OL, or an extra take from the position list (RB?). The possibility of Murray coming in some unconventional way could make 1 more scholarship available.
Do my numbers add up?

Yeah that has to be strange for him after all these years lol. The fact that he chose UT over other offers and Stoops HELPED with his hiring speaks volumes about Strong.
After the Cotton Bowl this year I noticed something and said as much to my wife. The way Stoops shook Charlie's hand was the way you shake a guys hand when you respect him. I do not remember him shaking Mack's hand like that, not even one time. I know he and Strong go way back, but when your rival HC respects you and the way you do things, it says a lot about you as a person. I bet when Stoops found out we were hiring Strong he said "Aw shit. Now we have to actually game plan against Texas."
