Not sure I have ever seen a title game. . .frankly about any game where one team loses  turnover margin 4-0 and not only wins but holds their opponent to less than half their season average.

Unreal. . .

It was an interesting side note to comments about the 2001 BigXII title game. . . we saw what happened when a championship D loses 4 turnovers, tOSU only gave up 10 points. . . . this is what great D's do.  . .they bow up. . .

Other oddities. . .Oregon held to 20 points .. . they averaged 47 points a game during the season.

But to not only win the game but blow out your opponent while losing the turnover ratio 4-0. . . .amazing.

Oh yeah,. . .starting your 3rd string QB in his 3rd career start . . .

Very simple explanation. Ohio State dominated both lines of scrimmage.

I think when Oregon matches up with an opponent as talented as they are, the offense they run works against them, the defense ends up being on the field for too long, they do not control the clock very well

I kept thinking this during the season.

Yea, our offense put the defense behind the 8 ball a lot this year. But why couldn't the defense have helped themselves by bowing up and stopping the other team?

I agree that the biggest factor was Ohio State's dominance at the line of scrimmage. Anyone else shocked that Oregon couldn't make adjustments to slow down Ohio State's run game? Their run game wasn't fancy by any means. Counter trap left...counter trap right...repeat
