Had the powers that be decided on an eight team format, these would've been the match-ups in the first round, followed by my score picks.

Michigan State/Alabama 34-35

Mississippi State/Oregon 37-52

TCU/FSU 35-27

Baylor/Ohio State 42-45

What do y'all think? Would this be better for college football, or do you prefer the current process?

I would love to see an 8 team playoff with the first round hosted by the highest rated school. That way it keep the overall travel costs down for both the fans and teams.

Eight teams a better format.  Could you imagine what TCU would do to these others teams?   More teams equal more fan interest; plus ALL major conferences get included.  Stupid having 5 major conferences and only four slots.

I guess I'm old. I wish we could go back to the pre-bcs days. I liked the poll and bowl days. The more they try to perfect the system, the more controversial it becomes.

8 team play-off is better than anything we have today. I know FSU got drilled by Oregon but if you're the only team w/o a loss, you should be seeded #1.

I wouldn't mind a 6 team playoff.  No controversy: 5 conference champs and 1 wildcard from the highest-rated non-Power 5 school.  Top two teams get byes. Quarter Finals played at home stadium of higher-ranked school.

Logistically the best way to make it work is what happens now (expect we have 5 power conferences not 4).

Each division sends it's winner to play for the conference title.. . . .

1st weekend in Dec. . . .

Had TEXAS left aggie and taken TT to the Pac, this would already be in place. . .or if instead of merging with the BigEast. . .the ACC had merged with the BigXII and we'd have culled some of the dead weight from the herd.

I want us to PAC so badly.  We have the Florida pipeline now and imagine tapping into Mater Dei and Long Beach Poly.

In Patterson we trust....

Leave it at 4. Sure whoever misses the cut will feel screwed. So what? Eight teams virtually assures a 2-loss team gets in. Let's not dilute the thing just yet.

I know that CFS is tapping his Florida connections and hope he continues to cherry pick but nothing to stop us from looking west as well. . .keep in mind the Johnson's are legacies.

Pac would have been great for me personally but ACC is actually a far better fit and would have given us access to far better TV markets (well, markets that watch football anyway).   It also would have been a GREAT fit for the Olympic sports as well. . . .

I am very much opposed to going to the PAC 12. Too far, wrong time zone. The mistake was letting the ACC get a couple of teams that would have made a pretty good fit with the Big 12. But we will be fine at Texas. The ones hurt by lack of a championship game are the church schools who have no national brand.

If Texas can just handle its business, we will do great just like it is.

Drop a regular season game and go with 16. Every other level does it that big or bigger, so lets do it big den !!!! LOL

Use the bowls : Smaller bowls for the first 8 games and so on or have the first 8 games played at top seed home site, then the semi finals at the major bowls. Either way ....It would be great.
