2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

IT says we may be interested in JUCO QB Max Staver of Tyler JC

Staver signed with Florida in 2013, but then went to East Mississippi CC

Coaches Watson (Louisville) and Koenning (MSU) both offered him out of high school

IT also says JUCO Daniel Fitzwater is another possible option at QB

According to the recruiting insiders we have an excellent chance to sign six Florida recruits.

Davis

Clarington

Irvin

Johnson

Cherry

Burt

All but Johnson are four stars recruits. I understand that this is helped by the Gators and Hurricanes having problems, but I'm impressed.

Do we think he is speaking to the effect on recruiting?

Is Strong counting on a pack of guys who haven't formally announced?

I have been using the 25 for this year + the 6 EEs = 31 total (+1 grayshirt)
So I think we have 20 commits currently, subtraction the 6 EE that gives us 10 spots. Does that sound accurate? Just trying to figure out how many guys we can still take, and the possibility that a few get left out if they don't pull the trigger timely. We might have a first come first serve deal on the DBs. of course, the sent commitments might be accounted for by the staff already.

TE Devonaire Clarington & DB DaVante Davis play on ESPNU @ 7PM tonight
If Clarington switched schools again he probably wont be playing tonight I would think. But maybe doesnt go into effect until after holiday break? Kid is a rolling stone

"..... However, in the weeks after his commitment, the Gators were able to close with four-star wide receiver Riley Cooper, four-star defensive end Jermaine Cunningham, four-star offensive lineman Marcus Gilbert, five-star wide receiver Percy Harvin, four-star linebacker A.J. Jones, three-star athlete Derrick Robinson, five-star linebacker Brandon Spikes, and four-star running back Mon Williams.

That's eight players with an average star rating of 4.13 in a stretch of less than eight weeks. And as most college football fans will remember, a handful of those players went on to play major roles in the 2006 and 2008 national championships, especially the latter.

So Jefferson has some high standards to match considering that the Longhorns haven't landed any pledges since the 6'3, 215-pounder pledged on December 19, but there's still plenty of time and plenty of targets out there, including the host of Florida prospects and state of Texas recruits like five-star defensive tackle Daylon Mack, four-star wide receiver Ryan Newsome, four-star running back Chris Warren, and four-star cornerback Kris Boyd, among others."   http://www.burntorangenation.com/2014/12/27/7455193/malik-jefferson-charlie-strong-tim-tebow-texas-longhorns-florida-gators#279525256

so, gurus, is Boyd's postponing a reason for concern?
I was told that the week of Christmas aggy popped in and offered him to play on both sides of the ball. This pleased Kris and caused him pause, despite aggy dragging their feet for so long.

I doubt anything changes with regard to Texas. My bigger concern is that the class gets filled up before he pulls the trigger. Plus, we get Boyd, we also get Hill. They want to play together.

I'm a fan of you, Mr. Boyd...for sure.  We would love to have you in Austin, Texas, playing for the

Texas Longhorns and Coach Charlie Strong.  We admire your talent and want you to help get Texas

Football back to prominence in college football, where it belongs.  We want to help you get a UT Degree

(carries weight in the business world) and further your chances of playing pro ball, if thats what you

hope for.  Either way, you will have the best professors (for school and academics) and coaches

(for football college and beyond in pro) at The University of Texas.  We love you and want you!

I know some people have eluded to it on twitter but has anyone heard anything more on what happened with Baylor and the Jarrett stidham?
