2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

Did someone say momentum? We'll get some more and have a Merry Krismas.

TCU is a real player with Mack. We really need to give him the mother of all recruiting trips on the 23rd. Hopefully, that visit to TCU doesn't happen. If it does, all bets are off.

Can someone clarify something for me? Has Wheeler actually visited? As in OV?

Mack has already OVd to TCU, so this one will be unofficial

On Wheeler, I dont think so, although he has been on campus a few times.  I dont see an OV to any school for him.

The CB has been trending to ou for the last several entries - but the last entry was ~ Thanksgiving.  Nothing new in Dec

I think if anything, we're even with OU right now for Wheeler. I wonder if the numbers bother him.

On Mack, official or not, the full court press would be applied. Heart-tugging stuff, ya know. lol I could see Patterson on his knees, crying. And it might work. lol

BYU /Memphis brawl........NCAA should suspend some folks for first game next year.

SHA,

I live in Allen. My daughter graduated from Allen last year and knows Murray. She was a Talonette and was assigned his jersey when he was a junior. All she ever talked about was how good he was. Believe me I heard it everyday, in the teenage dramatical way. I also heard everyday how he was all Aggie, this killed my daughter cause she was all Texas. I watched him play when I attended the games, I know he is very good. I know how this city is regarding football, we refuse to split up the HS into two schools to keep all the talent under one roof and built that huge stadium. My son plays on the football B team and I believe they have like 4-5 teams with hundreds of kids on each team. Rockwall and Plano always gives us shit for gaming the system to keep all the talent in one high school. Allen takes Texas HS football to another level fanatic wise. So the dedicated QB, ILB and OLB coaches and such doesnt surprise me at all.

All I am saying is after seeing the disaster we saw from Swoopes most of the year, its hard to imagine Heard could be any worse. Since Heard didnt play after the K-State game then your insider quote made sense to me. Watson mentioned it wasnt just picking up the offense playbook, it was learning how to progress through his reads, recognize blitzes and coverages, etc. Swoopes didnt do any of that in his last game or much of the season, he would stare down his ONE receiver and force the ball. Im not the Swoopes fanboy, but to be fair he wasnt a polished QB in HS and Murray obviously is. But until Murray commits you will have to forgive my lack of enthusiasm.

Murray should go to Texas. His future in baseball would be the safer bet due to his height. Calvin Murray his uncle was an All American under Gus. If Watson would play the kid, thats a big if to me, then he could be a great QB at Texas. But we are all just guessing anyways. No one here knows he will commit much less play next year. I for one hope he does but just sayin.

On another note, my ex is a counselor at Aledo and she tells me Newsome is all horns. Thats the extent of my lame insider information lol.
Thanks for being a lame insider. Hope you are on good terms with your ex and she is not feeding you false info!

Quite the contrary my ex and I have a great relationship.  Not all divorces have to be bitter.

I quote her last text to me, "Ryan is great kid.  Great manners and heart.".  Sounds like the kind of player Charlie wants with his core values.

From JB's link:

He didn’t have enough assistants with experience recruiting in Texas, the critics said. And the one assistant he kept from Mack Brown’s staff (Bruce Chambers) is widely perceived as one of the weakest recruiters at any high-profile program.
So why did he keep Chambers? I've heard from others he is a suspect coach. So what is his speciality?

His specialty is supposed to be relationships with TX high school football coaches, particularly DFW. But, if we don't have a presence at Cedar Hill with their HC, Joey McGuire, he's a liability.

Maybe we'll bring in a TE/special team coach? That would be ideal.
