2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

IT points out that WR Christian Kirk will be an early enrollee.

And that, if Murray does de-commit, he wants Kirk to have the time to look around if that's what Kirk wants.

The idea being, if something is going to happen with Murray, i will happen quickly.

They also claim that we have been hard-selling the Malik/Mack/Murray to the various interested parties.

What do you not like about Lodge, SHA? Has similar build and skill set as Burt. He'd be a good replacement.

Clark is MI bound if they get Harbaugh. His Stanford program produced many NFL tight ends.

I was quoting someone else, JB. I like Lodge. A lot.

Clark will not come if Clarrington comes. And I think Clarrington comes. He'll need to get his stuff in order, academically. His transcripts are all over the place, I hear. But it's doable.

The source I spoke with indeed said Watson does not play freshman. And I would agree that that would be the rule due to the difficulty in a frosh picking up the offense so fast. Bridgewater was an exception. Heard was not.

That said, there will be a QB competition that I think Murray would win at UT. It might be game 2, 3 or 4, but he would win the job. He certainly beats anything aggy has on board already. Murray may not know that right now. I don't know.

Murray is that good. His hold back would be arriving in fall with little time to pick up the system. But he's a QB's son who knows how to study a playbook and film and would probably do that all summer prior to fall practice. He's a smarter Manziel and without the off-field issues. At Allen, he has a designated QB coach. In fact, Allen's staff is so large that each position has it's own coach. Even linebackers are divided into "outside linebackers coach" and "inside linebackers coach." So Murray isn't so raw.

If Murray were to come, all our QBs will be better. But I think the moxie that Murray has will win out.

Anyone remember any of the posts?

Shevis, I remember several that were so hateful and malicious toward a really good person (Malik), that I don't want to put them on a Longhorn Board.  They were vicious, and they talk about women who are scorned.  Bull!  That was just on the one page that I read.  After that, I signed off - disgusting.

A couple of their posters made attempts to defend his decision, but they were shouted down by the jerks.

Hook 'em!

I read the thread before it was deleted.  Hard to believe some of the stuff that was on there. Some said they were going to tweet at Malik. Classless. In other words, typical aggy.

Shevis

A good number of the posts were saying that he was afraid to play in the sec. Many of them were calling him a mama's boy. As Java said many of them probably should not be repeated here.

Basically stuff you would hear from 12-year-olds who were growing their first pubes. Or most aggy.

I remember everyone saying the same thing about Heard.  Its the precursor to the excitement on every recruit.  Most know I am not Swoopes fanboy.  Its difficult to believe that Heard was worse than what we saw in the TCU.  At that point Im sure they wanted to save his RS, but why not during the KState game?  There were numerous bad games by Swoopes.  Then everyone talked about how Watson wont play true freshmen.  Now its Kyler Murray and he hasnt even committed yet.  Ah the Merry-go-round.  I will hold my excitement til it materializes whether its his commitment or him beating out Heard and Gentry.

I have not seen Kyler Murray play (was in Dallas with family this weekend and missed the games), but my deep suspicion is that he will make a great college QB, but will have real problems in the pros at QB. from what I have heard, his pro future is probably baseball.

Playing baseball at Texas the next few years will put him on great display, because we are going to the CWS every year for a while.

Doing 2 sports is very difficult. It is hard for a QB to miss a lot of spring training. But I will bet that Shawn and Charlie will have a big package for Kyler if he comes to play football, even though he plays baseball as well.

One great QB that Texas had that I knew did both, and was an All American at both. Bobby Layne was a Hell of a pitcher, and a Hell of a quarterback. He loved football more, so he went that direction as a pro. But he would have been great at either.

So, Kyler, it can be done.

Come on down to the good guys.
