2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

I agree here. Anyone who feels that aggie has more potential than Texas on defense after the on-field evidence of both teams along with the history of both coaches probably has his mind made already.
But according to Malik Baylor isnt a defensive school.  I guess A&M is and Texas isnt.  /confused

Need an All Points Bulletin to Coach Wick!!
I have to admit, I don't know the rules to the dead period real well but I don't think any coaches can make contact with the players right now. It has to be initiated by the recruit.

Coaches can have one call a week to recruits they have established prior contact with. Recruits are free to contact coaches.

A&M has way too much turnover on their staff (not just this year but the entire tenure under Sumlin). Not sure the impact on recruiting but there's no doubt it will have an impact on performance on the field.

I think Suchomel has said MJ to Texas this evening. Calls it a hunch.

Burton won't say, but says the Hagens uncertainty could be an issue for MJ.

Aggie perforamnce on the field is already showing regression.  In Sumlin's first year, he was 11-2.  His 2nd year, they were 9-4 and this year 7-5.

But yet, the upswing is with Sumlin and A&M.  Sumlin is selling some "smoke and miirors" to Jefferson and his buddies.  His record alone is reason enough to question his philosphies and leading of a program.

It's obviousthe top coaches are not knocking down his door to coach with him and his program.

I don't get the "more potential" position with aggy.

Even if they signed a class that was 5-star from top to bottom, they'd still be looking at having to play other teams with the same, but who have coaches who make them better.

Even when they had a heisman QB, the best they could do was a mid-division finish.

But hey, MJ will enjoy routing Sam Houston State and SMU.
He's  he's repeating Sumlin's BS. He fears Texas doesn't run his scheme. What kind of scheme is that, oh yeah a top 20 defense. He believes top recruits will follow him to CS but not to Austin, I wonder who taught him that.

As I have said before, since joining the SEC, aggy has zero more wins over FBS teams than does Texas. They have four more wins and have gone 4-0 over FCS teams during that time. Its not as if aggy has been kicking teams around, its just they are so much better than Texas at managing their image in the media that it is amazing. Texas simply can't compete with the ags in media and marketing and recruits are dazzled by aggy and want to play there. Its embarrassing.

If aggy marketing includes the Swagchopper, then count that one against them. I'm embarrassed for Sumlin every time that thing is fired up.

Aggy had a good year when Manziel was a freshman. Then the next year we had to witness his alter-ego and aggy fell. They continued to fall this year and were . . . frankly, hard to watch. If your offense is struggling, play aggy and problems go away.

That said, I tend to agree that the one year Manziel won the heisman, it created a momentum that only the last year or two has started to subside. Once Manziel was gone, Sumlin got exposed.

Texas' best marketing is the product on the field. We've seen Charlie make a bowl with a bunch of pieces he had to mesh together on the fly. Win games, recruits will come. Win a lot of games, they'll knock each other over to get to Austin.

Sumlin's "getting exposed" hasn't affected his recruiting one bit. Jefferson is going to commit tomorrow even though they don't have a DC and McNeal is going to commit without a position coach.
None of the positives about Texas ever gets discussed in the media. Two schools with 1000 APR- Texas and Louisville. Second winningest program in NCAA history. We hear about Manziel in the pros, but anything about Bridgewater? At Texas football athletes hang with top athletes in other sports. We aren't a one sport school. But none of those positives are ever pushed in the media to explain what sets Texas apart from schools like aggy. I can understand why athletes are flocking to play for aggy. They are untouchable. It is as if the marketing and media teams at Texas are scared of upsetting aggy by challenging their dominance.

Then he'll go where 5 star defensive recruits go to be average players.

That's his loss. Texas will still be an awakening giant. Aggy will still be a life-long member of the SEC West Mid Division Club.

Sooner or later, that makes your marketing a joke. How many times can you pump up something that never happens? Even with a heisman QB? How can the SEC or your marketing team help you when you're getting pounded 59-0 in front of God and everyone?

While I agree Texas needs to improve it's marketing efforts, it's not like they had a ton to work with until now. Aggy's schtick is already old. Sumlin looks fat and lazy and aggy is under-performing. I'd say aggy marketing has its hands full.

If you read the comments you'll see Mcneal giving us a lot of love

Is that really the former ags QB Reggie McNeal conversing with the recruits? If so, is that allowed? Or is this a completely different dude and I am not in the know here? Does recruit McNeal go by Reggie?
