Wife gone to an all girls party so I'm sipping on a little wine re-watching the Texas-USC national championship game.

All I can say is, WOW, there was some talent on the field that night!

And we had a hell of a tight end!

I have always said David Thomas should have been Co-MVP with Vince for that game. Thomas had 10 clutch receptions

in the game, which kept those drives going in the 4th quarter that enabled Texas to move down the field, score and win

the National Championship.  I suppose only one player can be MVP and Vince was clearly that, but Thomas' clutch

receptions were key to winning that game.

Not only did DT make ten clutch catches, but several of them were caught short of the yard marker with a USC defender all over him, with second effort resulting in KEY first downs. BTW, no bowl game had ever had more future NFL players in it (62?).

David Thomas was really one of my favorite guys. He was so clutch in any situation. I know we have had more "talented" tight ends, but hard to find many that were better.

VINCE SCORES !!!!

Still gives me chills.
INDEED!

I have re-watched this game and the tOSU 25-22 win so many times now - they never get old.

So many heroes in the NC game - so many players made key plays at critical times.

Mr. Clutch, David Thomas was a key reason that team won 13 games and the NC game.  He was money - Vince's go-to receiver.

Thomas was the original "Mr. Reliable". I really enjoy his comments on the Longhorn Network.
