Wow Stidham just decommitted from Tech

Texas needs to go all in. The problem is the dead period is about to happen. I'm thinking Stidham already knows where he's going.

Tech's recruiting class just took a HUGE hit. Stidham has offers from Bama, Oregon and a ton of other premier programs. He definitely has options.

So,who is thought to be the leader? I remember rumors that he was interested in Notre Dame late in the summer.

Everyone on Twitter thinks Baylor. I think Oregon.
When The University of Texas is not even "in the hunt" for a player having this kind of talent....it does not bode well for the future.  Hopefully I'm wrong, and we will see a Christmas miracle.

Yes, I am also disappointed that a home grown (Texas high school) talent like him

doesn't even consider UT.  Hate to see Texas talent like him leave the state...or go to Baylor.

That will stop once Charlie Strong's defenses start stopping Art Briles offenses. And I think they will.
If Art Briles has more talented players on offense than Charlie Strong has on defense, Art Briles will win. And vice-versa. There's a good reason that Alabama vies for a NC every year, and it's not because of Saban's coaching abilities. It's because of his recruiting abilities...and his abilities to have more talent than his opponents.

It's not just about the players. It's also about the scheme, the types of players recruited, etc.

Charlie held Briles and his offense (and veteran heisman candidate QB) to 28 points, well below their average, while having an offense that kept putting them in bad positions all game.

If Charlie has a year or two with the program, has his athletes making a more level field when he meets Briles, IMO, Charlie wins.

One could argue that Saban requires more talent due to his lack of creativity both on offense and defense.

+1

K-State is a perfect example.  20 Walk-ons, outplayed most of the teams they played.

If we had a consistent offense our defense would have been even better statistically.  Bryce Petty mentioned after the Texas game that was the first defense he played where he was confused most of the game.  Not sure on the stats but Baylor's offense looked very inept the first couple of series vs Texas Defense.

Give Charlie a couple of years to get some of his guys in.

It's never too late to go after this guy. Need to go after him with gusto. What could it hurt?
