Rhoads, Stoops, and Gundy could be on the hot seat. Beatty has already been hired at KU. It also wouldn't surprise me if programs make a play for Briles and Patterson.

It could be a very interesting offseason for the Big 12.

If I were calling the shots at ISU, I'd keep Rhoads. Just a down year. He's done well.

Stoops. The selfish SHA wants Stoops to stay. But the other SHA doesn't see how OU and their fans continue to accept this from him. He built this team up in the preseason, as he always does, and then it just pooped on him.

OU is in a worse situation than we were in with Mack, IMO. At least much of our fans and alumni were ready for Mack to go. At OU, there's still a strong contingent who won't consider a change. The cupboard isn't exactly stocked, either. Things do not look good up there.

Gundy is a goner if what I've heard is true.

Briles and Patterson will get hired away.  Surprised it hasnt happened for Briles already

Where would Briles go? I guess the Michigan job is out there, but I am friends with some of the younger Mich Alums in Houston, and I get the feeling they want a ground and pound guy...which is strange for younger folks.

My guess is that's just what they have been used to for 100 years or so at Michigan.

Rhoads is the only one I anticipate getting fired, Gundy's win in Bedlam saved him, and OU won't can Stoops...yet.

I don't see Briles or Patterson ever leaving because 8-4 at BU and TCU is acceptable. We'll see

Briles and Patterson have it made. Wouldn't surprise me if they retire where they are.
Briles isn't going anywhere. Why leave a place where he is THE MAN to go risk getting fired in three years or so if he doesn't win big ? When he gets near retirement he might consider a move just to see if he could win a national title somewhere.....because he isn't winning one at Baylor ( see play off committee choices for 2014 ).

Agree. Simply being at Baylor and repeatedly being left out will get old at some point.

If Texas and OU had been Baylor/TCU, the Big 12 might have two teams in the playoffs right now.

I think Brides stays where he is, and yes, even retires in Waco. He can do anything he wants without impunity.

Paterson is a little different. The will have to go undefeated to make the playoffs.. Very tough to ever do at that small private school. The caveat in him leaving is his relationship with his AD. They have disagreed on many things but when the going got tough, regarding drugs, suspensions etc., they sat down and worked through the problem. Chris Del Conte is a wonderful guy, his background defies where he has gotten himself. I can say for personal experience he has a great collegue.

So I think the Patterson/Del Conte dynamic might just keep the purple visor in Ft Worth.

Agree, unless Patterson has an affinity for his alma mater K-State. Maybe he replaces Snyder?
