***The Official Texas vs. UCONN Game Thread***

Regardless of the outcome, great basketball game this early in the season. These are the type of high pressure tests we need to be prepared for March.

Wow.  Nice J by Holmes.  Weird ending.

I love how our guys went straight into defense mode after that bucket. Fundamentals!

I am jealous of their fans. I wish our fan base was that loud and rowdy.
Basketball school

Small, intimate venue; students right on top of court.

Basketball-first part of the country.

We are a football school

Our arena is too darn big for our college hoops support

Folks in Texas are by and large not hoops first people.

Couple of thoughts.

1-Ridley has to play better. The good news is I don't think there's a shot in hell he goes to the NBA after this year.

2-This is a game we really needed Taylor. We needed a PG that could create offense and his defense to check Boatright.

3-Turner is out of sync offensively at times, but he was huge today. Turner made some big time defensive plays and grabbed some critical boards.

4-Holmes should be a candidate for player of the year.

5-Holland needs to be more aggressive. He's really improved his offensive game. I think he can score 15 to 18 a night if he's more aggressive.

6-Felix was Felix at times.

7-I like Yancy. Another lock down defender and smart on the offensive end.

Yancy playing good D, but at times questionnable offensive decisions--dribbling to traffic on the baseline, erratic dribbling at times. Has been better controlling the ball in the other games.
Great drive to the hoop for a bucket in the second though. Young player, getting better with more game experience.

Poor inside game today, but always enjoy a made Prince freethrow!
