QB:

Commits: Zach Gentry (solid with his commitment. Told Suchomel today he's 100 percent committed to UT)

Other options: Kai Locksley and JUCO QB Jake Hubenak (Florida State is loaded with QBs so it will be interesting if Locksley sticks. Hubenak is putting up insane numbers right now at Blinn College, so it will be interesting if Texas makes a play for him).

RB:

Commits: Tristian Houston, Kirk Johnson, Jordan Stevenson (Houston and Johnson are solid with their commitments right now, Stevenson is looking at Wisconsin)

Other options: Derrius Guice, Soso Jamabo, Chris Warren, and Nick Brossette (IMO Texas will get at least 2 of these guys)

WR:

Commits: John Burt (probably going to flip to Auburn but Auburn's recent struggles don't make that a certainty).

Other options: Ryan Newsome, JF Thomas and Gilbert Johnson (IMO we will get two of these guys and that's all we really need for this WR class).

OL:

Commits: Ronnie Major, Connor Williams, Toby Weathersby, Patrick Vahe, Garrett Thomas, and Tristan Nickelson (Weathersby and Vahe are looking around but I think they stick)

Other options: Jerry Tillerly, Martinas Rankin, and Brandon Hodges (I think we get Hodges. I don't think we are recruiting Tyler Moore anymore)

TE:

Commits: Nobody

Other options: Will Gragg, Chris Clark, and Devonaire Clarington (I think we get one of these guys. I actually think we have a very good shot with Devonaire Clarington).

DE:

Commits: Charles Omenihu and Louis Brown (Both are solid with their commitments)

Other options: Quincy Vasser and Kingsley Keke (there really aren't many options left, but keep an eye on Keke at strong side defensive end)

DT:

Commits: Du'vonta Lampkin (solid with his commitment)

Other options: Adam Mclean (there really aren't many options here. Mclean just decommitted from Penn. State and is very good friends with Cecil Cherry)

LB:

Commits: Breckyn Hager and Cameron Townsend (both solid commits)

Other options: Cecil Cherry, Semaj Thomas, Darrin Kirkland Jr, Malik Jefferson, Anthony Wheeler, and Bo Wallace (IMO we will get at least two of these guys. It sounds like Cherry is pretty much a commit right now)

DB:

Commits: Deshon Elliott and Jamille Johnson (Johnson is a solid commit and Elliott is looking around. IMO Elliott will stick though)

Other options: Kris Boyd, Holton Hill, Davante Davis, Justin Martin, Deandre Baker, Ronnie Hoggins, and Xavier Lewis. (IMO we will get at least two if not 3 of these guys)

Other:

Tim Irvin, Deandre McNeal, and Jordan Cronkite. Not really sure where they will play at the next level. Texas is in the game for all three though.

Soso Jamabo, Semaj Thomas and Keke Kingsley are 3 names I would keep an eye on though. I think come the end of the recruiting process Texas will be in the game for all 3.

Is Hubenak the Georgetown HS kid from a few seasons ago? Put up big numbers in HS but no real offers from what I recall. Skinny kid, big arm I seem to remember.

Matthew Merrick is another QB possibility

Watson has stayed in touch with him through the season

He's 6'3, plays at Highland Park -- good bball player too

Dont know if he would get a full schollie offer though

Yeah, he walked on at Oklahoma State. He apparently turned some eyes on the scout team but never got a chance.

Yeah I'm not sure if we will offer him. I think there's a better chance we go after someone like Hubenak who has some collegiate experience.

Also there are several early entry possibles -- Jefferson, Williams, Garrett and maybe J.Johnson, who would count count towards last years class.

It's gonna be a huge class

A little like Christmas

:D
Yep my guess is anywhere between 25-30. I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple pick ups the transfer route either. It seemed like Strong always got a transfer or two when at Louisville.

JUCO QB Jake Hubenak - a must!  I dont believe Swoopes is not a championship QB.  Everyone loves this kid after one good game then he has a subpar game.  He has great games like he did in OU and UCLA then has a 30% completion in a 3 game stretch.  Inconsistent and awkward.  Maybe I have just been spoiled after watching Colt in his first season or even James brown in his first career start at OU

We also need a consistent kicker.  Rose strong leg makes a 50 yarder then misses a PAT and 27 yarder
