More bad news for the OL

The number of injuries (and suspensions) to this team have been nothing short of shocking. The only comparison I can think of for UT football in the last 50 years was I believe 1967 when DKR had a very good team coming back in the fall - the media dubbed it: " '67, Year of the Horns".  The team had an incredible number of injuries and it translated to a disappointing 6-4 regular season.  Season ending knee injuries took out QB Bill Bradley and TE Derryl Comer plus a bunch of other key starters.

If Perkins is out for the Pokes game, we are down to ~ 5 OL I hope they leave Doyle at C at put Raulerson back in somewhere else in the OL. Perhaps Wickline moves McFarland over to RT or they just run sets with 2 TE and or Del La Torre lined up on the LOS?  T Harrison has said he is redshirting but if he did come back due to the urgent need of OL, he would probably be rusty.

Beyond this I have few ideas or suggestions, but the coaches are being paid the big $$$ to be prepared, make tough decisions and take action(s) in this kind of situation.

Hook 'Em!
If they play Raulerson it's going to be at center, way too undersized to play anywhere else. I think they will put Raulerson back at center and slide Doyle back out to RG, if Perkins can't play. With the weather as crappy as it sounds like for Saturday, I think we were going to see a lot of 2 WR sets anyways using a FB/TE. I'm not all that worried about this game with our offensive line, OK. State's D-line isn't very good. We can manage without Perkins IMO if we utilize Swaim and De La Torres blocking ability. We need him back for TCU though.

The other thing is Ok. State's d-line isn't very big, matter of fact they are undersized. It's all about stopping the speed rush with them. Both their DTs are in the 290 range and one of their DEs is 250. They aren't going to punish anyone with their size, it's all about containing their speed.

bomb12 - I knew the Pokes DL was not very good and you made a good point about them being undersized - I feel a little more confident you are not worried about the OL for this game... TCU will be a much different situation in 2 weeks.

Raulerson actually substituted for Flowers at the end of the Tech game, so he does have some experience at guard.

It could happen, I don't think it will though. 280 pound guards just won't work for an entire game. I think they will roll with Riser before Raulerson at guard simply because of size. I really think the only option though is to put Raulerson back at center and put Doyle back at guard. I have no clue what Riser has been doing in practice so maybe he can fill in at guard and keep Doyle at center. At the end of the day, if they want to keep Doyle at center I almost think it has to be Riser at guard because Raulerson is simply too small to play guard for  a full game. Come the 4th quarter he will be run over every play.

I will say this I think Raulerson's skill set is best utilized at guard. He just needs about 20 or 30 more pounds before he can play the position.

I think if Perkins is out, then I'd move Jake to RT, Hughes moves down to RG and Doyle stays at center.

Jake played RT in a game earlier this year didn't he??

I haven't had anybody confirm that Big Perk isn't going to make the trip. Everyone that's talking (which isn't many) is saying that it'll be a "Saturday decision" which implies he will be in Stillwater.

OB is saying Perkins is telling people around him that he's fine and will play.
he has been saying this all day yesterday... many of us just do not understand what all the ultra dramatic hoopla was about.  perkins says that he shall be fine!

You never know until x Rays and MRIs are done. Been there done that. All players think they are fine and ready to go. When I broke my ankle in high school I said the same thing until I actually got the XRays. Granted, it does sound promising.
