Reason enough alone to become a fan of the man. It's one thing to crop out the men who don't possess the character to be on the team. It's another to completely change the character.

that kind of statement HAS to resonate with the parents of recruits, doesn't it ? not the pimps looking for a payday, but the ones who give a crap about their kid's futures anyway.

Someone needs to make an edit with this quote.

[Coach840]

Coming from a player, that is huge....hoping for a a huge recruiting weekend

[Sirhornsalot]

The challenge with Steve, and I'm from his hometown, is to get him to love school as much as he loves fishing. You turn your back on him, he'll head to a fishing hole.

A good problem to have considering what others deal with.

[java]

Then take him to a very slow fishing hole with a few very big fish and his books!

Good for Steve.

[HornEsch]

I am very proud of Steve. With all the negative talk with his play the first few years, he has been reinvented both on and off the field.

[Bear19]

J B's post is gold Jerry! Pure gold!!

[gmcc]

I think Steve's quote should be sent out with every scholarship offer.

[Aaron Carrara]

Between that and the John Harris one (below)... they speak volumes.

[dillohorn]

Let the recruits all hear this.
