Just some FYI type info as I know many of you have abandoned OB . . . .and are tired of smoke from other sites. This from Grey Gordon's post. . . .
- Kendall Sheffield will be in Tallahassee for this weekend's FSU-Notre Dame game.
- Sosa Jamabo wrapped up an official visit to UCLA last weekend and is headed to Oregon soon. Jamabo enjoyed the Southern California atmosphere more than he expected
and currently has the Bruins very high on his list. Also keep an eye on
the Bruins with another four-star Texas recruit, wide receiver Carlos Strickland, who has recently moved UCLA up his list.
- Malik Jefferson is also lining up an official visit to Oregon.
- As mentioned last week, four-star offensive lineman Josh Wariboko
is now giving Ohio State a long look. The one-time Oklahoma commit will
get an even closer look as he has scheduled an official visit to
Columbus for this coming weekend. However, the Buckeyes still have a
great deal of room to make up to catch up with UCLA, who is still seen
as the leader, and Oklahoma, who has pulled themselves back into the
picture. But watch out for the Buckeyes here as Wariboko talks to 2014
OSU signee Demetrius Knox out of Texas quite often.
- Late Tuesday night Rivals100 RB Derrius Guice revealed on Twitter that he will take all five official visits before coming to a final decision. Could Texas get an official visit from Guice?
Then there's the section about Texas and the Florida recruits.
Texas obviously needs an upgrade in talent and it seems as though Charlie Strong
is going back to his Florida roots hard to accomplish this. The
Longhorns handed out numerous offers in Florida on Tuesday, including
four-star running back Tim Irvin, four-star defensive backs Shawn Burgess-Becker and DaVante Davis, and three-star defensive backs Sheldrick Redwine, Ronnie Hoggins and Carlton Davis, who is committed to Ohio State.
While Texas has made a small push into Florida this recruiting season
already, I'm actually surprised it took this long for them to hit the
state harder. Now that it's mid-October and with the Longhorns having
another subpar year, might it be too late to grab the attention of the
Florida recruits?
