***The Official Texas vs. Kansas Game Thread***

Unbelievable how lucky aggy just got. Arkansas just gave that game away. Pathetic.

Wow, they gave it away. I don't understand that 4th down call.

Bielema is the worst play caller/manager I've seen in late game situations. All they had to do in the 4th quarter was run the ball and the game was over.

I can't believe I can't see this game on TV I have Direct TV might have to change so I can get the LHN. Texas is hurting themselves not being seen on TV. My friends y'all have a great day
I think we would have helped ourselves if this game had been blacked out.

I don't think the playcalling was that bad. We went deep quite a few times and Swoopes missed some wide open receivers. Swoopes did not look good throwing deep except for the TD that got called back for holding.

He missed a couple deep balls, but he was also pressured quite a bit because of the o-line.

My big problem with the offensive playcalling was that we refused to run hurry-up. Whenever we did, which only happened with about two minutes left in the first half, we moved the ball well. I feel that Swoopes runs the offense much better in hurry-up.

The O line is putrid, that much we already knew. This team needs to find an identity on offense, and fast. I excepted more after 2 weeks to prepare. We must find some playmakers and get them the ball. And Swoopes is not very fast. The "mobile QB" label he carries is a myth.

Very happy with the win today. Kansas is a bad team, but a win and a shutout is always a good thing.

I honestly don't have a huge problem so far with the offensive play calling. I haven't been impressed or anything but I understand that Watson is missing 6 preseason starters. IMO he could open it up a little more, but not much because Swoopes would get killed with this O-line. I think what he needs to start doing is utilizing two tight end sets, because our TEs might be our best blockers.

Swoopes is SLOW. He is not a dual threat QB. His deep passes seem to float and give DBs a chance to recover if and when we do get behind them. He is not very accurate. Our receivers do not get open. Several times Swoopes had plenty of time to throw and didn't due to coverage. We can't run the ball against Kansas ?? That spells trouble. Our defense gave up big chunks on the ground to Kansas ?? What will we do against Linwood and OU's beast ? This could be the worst October in UT history if Watson doesn't find a way to open up this offense and make it work.

i don't think trying to make swoopes into VY2 is going to work well.

honestly, i'd rather see heard get a shot at this.

that said, it was a good solid, boring ass win on the road.  doubled the spread.l  pitched a shutout.

ol' ugly is better than ol' nothin' as darrell used to say.

I completely disagree with this. He needs to keep the redshirt. We aren't going to win anything this year, there's no reason to play him. I also don't think Heard would be any better then what Swoopes is right now. I want 4 real seasons out of Heard.

I didn't think Swoopes looked as sharp today, and I don't know why.  He seemed to rush his throws.  Why did he do that against Kansas rather than UCLA?  If I were the coach and I had Baylor and OU coming up, I would probably spend some of that time preparing for those teams.  Of course, I'm no coach.

We should use the tight end more, imo.

total-recall-two-weeks.jpg

no excuses allowed!

TEXAS had two weeks to prepare for the kansas jayhawks.  and yet, kansas, still racked up more total yardage then we did.

i think that we need to continue to realize, that there was indeed a reason that none of our player's were hereby drafted upon last years collegiate draft.... they are just not that good!

i still believe that this team could / would have defeated ucla... if they had played with a bit more heart vs passion.

coach strong, is a MAN'S MAN... NO NONSENSE type of coach.  why isn't some of this very sentiment transferring to his players?

this is indeed the first ever time, that i am actually AFRAID to watch a TEXAS team play baylor vs oklahoma.

those games, could very well end up a disaster....
