oh totally cool!  what part of scotland does your pal's hereby reside?  everyone in scotland, knows everyone else.  trust me mark, my people may know your people.... that is just the way it is over there.  and yes, they do so love their ale.  nonetheless, from what they are now telling me, they are all preparing and getting ready for the big VOTE!

Well, my people would include the Queen Mother, Elizabeth Bowes-LYON and her children. But no, she's not one of the drunks.

See Castle Glamis and the Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne. Glamis has been our home since the 1400s.

And as you might suspect, the grounds of Castle Glamis are listed on the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland.

Scotland has no currency and has no plans for making a new currency, outside of just using the Euro. However, they do have tons of oil for the time being so there's that. Plus, if it's not Scottish, it's crap.

now THIS is the sort of item that i enjoy hearing about.  i find this revelation as per one of our great HS stalwarts, not only prominent, but extremely captivating.  castle glamis, (angus, scotland) is simply gorgeous!  the history surrounding the rumors regarding the THOMAS LYONS - BOWES survival, is what legends are hereby made of.  so you are a direct descendent as per elizabeth bowes - lyon?  fascinating, and yet quite romantic.  i think that if the rumors of the deformed child hidden away within the walls of castle glamis are true, then how sad that it had to become a legend of horror.  especially, surrounding such a grand and beautiful landscape.  i'm proud of you mark.  i shall now put forth some queries to my pals that reside in or nearby angus, scotland.  they may know of someone of something.  totally cool!

somehow, i really doubt that the gay people of boerne, tx, are hereby "laughing" with you at this time. but hey, we all know just how much you so love to be

are you kidding ? All the gays in Kendall co can take a joke and love me. Both of them.

Remember when making fun of aggie didn't bring out PC police..... I guess aggie now a protective class....

Not a direct descendent. In 1692, one of two brothers went to America. The other stayed and was the line that Elizabeth is from. The one that came to America is the line I'm from. But prior to that, my descendants were residents of Glamis. I traced us all the way back to the year 1100, when a Roger DeLeon came over from Normady and then changed his name from DeLeon to Lyon.

The Lyon family had another castle but it was given over to the state back in the 1800s and has been a prison ever since. LOL.

One of my top items on my bucket list is to go to Scotland, see Glamis and several of the places in Scotland I've read about while tracing my family back. One of my descendants was a close colleague of Robert the Bruce, the same one you see in Braveheart.

all of my descendants are still living. weird.

i've been to scotland. played golf. drank a bit. that's all i've got.

I gotta say...Monarch with a major fail on this particular thread. The fact that you actually called TEXAS a "national laughingstock" is frankly, as per, inexcusable my friend.

Apparently Corso called us an "academic school" today on Game Day.

Kind of an ouch for the football program even if it made Powers, et al., smile.

SCOTLAND?  I visit this thread to read about aggy and Scotland is the topic of discussion?  I need to go scroll back and find out how this thread got de-railed to Scotland, for god's sake.

At the risk of starting world war three, there are times I think you are a troll.
I don't think he is a troll - he is way too sensitive to be a very good one. :)

I will cut him some slack and say that I think he was trying to say that our coin toss miscue was laughed at by the country.  Hell,  I laughed myself.

This is a far cry from "becoming the laughing stock of the country".  Them's fightin' words, Monarch. :)

We are an "academic school" even when we are winning on the football field. Not sure what the point is.

It was a quick, funny insult to the football program.

The sort of thing that might be said about Rice football.

I can't really take anything Corso says these days with much more than a grain of salt.  His stroke(s) have significantly affected his abilities to offer intelligible football analysis.  It's sad, and I honestly didn't expect for him to be back on the set this season.  I applaud him for giving the effort, but if you watch Game Day very much, you'll get more WTF moments with him than you will solid commentary.

It was in the context of 'what if byu runs the table' and corso said they wouldn't be worthy since their best wins would be ut, UVA and cal...academic schools.

A dig at texas, maybe. But the discussion was about byu.
