In a “win or go home” situation for the Texas Longhorns, the bats came alive in game two of the Austin Super Regional. Cole Green got the start for the ‘Horns and pitched well giving up only one earned run. Texas took a 2-1 lead into the 9th inning as the visiting team. Jordan Etier, who has had a less than stellar postseason at the plate, stepped up to the plate with runners on the corners and ripped a breaking ball over the left field fence. The Longhorns took a commanding 5-1 lead and Corey Knebel stepped in as the closer and finished off the game in the bottom of the 9th.
Texas faces Arizona State tonight at 6:00 pm on ESPN2 with the winner advancing to the College World Series in Omaha.
