The Texas Longhorns will make their 63rd appearance in the postseason when they take the field on Friday at Blue Bell Park in College Station. The ‘Horns join host No. 3 Texas A&M, Louisiana and Grambling as participants in the College Station Regional, which begins play at noon between the Aggies and Grambling State Tigers. Texas and Louisiana will end Friday’s play with a 5:00 p.m. start at Olsen Field.
Depending on the outcome of Friday’s contests, the Longhorns will face either Texas A&M or Grambling on Saturday at either 2:00 or 8:00 p.m.
Texas is 3-2 all-time against the Aggies in postseason play and 34-8 all-time against the Ragin’ Cajuns. The Longhorns and Tigers have met once before in the NCAA Tournament (1985), with Texas winning 4-3 and eventually losing to Miami in the College World Series final.
Max Grubbs (5-4, 3.41 ERA) will get the start for the Longhorns while the Ragin’ Cajuns will counter with RHP Carson Fluno (4-0, 2.94).
Texas boasts an all-time record of 154-57-1 in Regional play.
