Major league ballparks continue to plague the Texas Baseball team, as the Louisville Cardinals walked-off the Longhorns 4-3 in the 10th inning on Friday night in Arlington. The loss marks the 12th-straight for the program when playing on an MLB field.

Jim Schlossnagle’s team jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning following Max Belyeu’s double and Will Gasparino’s homer to right center field.

The Louisville offense was held in check until the bottom of the ninth inning, with two singles and a double ultimately tying the game at 2-2 as extra innings loomed.

True freshman Adrian Rodriguez gave the Longhorns a 3-2 lead with a blast to right field but it wasn’t enough insurance as the Cardinals scored two in the bottom of the frame to walk-off the win.

Texas starting pitcher Jared Spencer pitched a solid 5.2 scoreless innings, striking out six Cardinals and allowing just four hits en route to a no-decision. Redshirt Senior and Notre Dame transfer Will Mercer took the loss, giving up three hits and two runs in one inning pitched. Ruger Riojas and Andre Duplantier each took the mound in relief, with Riojas taking responsibility for the Louisville scores in the ninth.
