Saatva Empire Classic: No. 19 Texas to take on Louisville

The Texas Longhorns (3-0, 0-0 Big 12) will face the Louisville Cardinals (2-1, 0-0 ACC) in the Saatva Empire Classic on Sunday at 2:30 PM at Madison Square Garden. Texas joins last year’s national champion UCONN, Indiana and Louisville as participants in the Classic, which benefits the Wounded Warrior Project.

Rodney Terry’s team defeated Rice 80-64 last Wednesday, while the Cardinals defeated Coppin State 61-41.

Texas Basketball to play in 2026 Rady Children’s Invitational

Louisville leads Texas in head-to-head matchups 4-1. The last time the two met on the hardwood was in 1997 with the Cardinals defeating the Longhorns 78-63.

The winner of the Texas vs. Louisville game will face the winner of the UCONN vs. Indiana game which takes place before the ‘Horns and Cardinals square off.

The game will take place on ESPN.
