The Texas Longhorns are heading back to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth consecutive year, this time as an No. 11 seed in the West Region. Their path begins Tuesday night in Dayton.
Texas (18-14, 9-9 SEC) will square off against fellow No. 11 seed NC State (20-13, 10-8 ACC) in the NCAA First Four on Tuesday, March 17, with tip-off set for approximately 8:10 p.m. CT at the University of Dayton Arena. The game will air on truTV, with Brian Anderson handling play-by-play alongside analysts Charles Barkley and Dick Vitale, and Jenny Dell reporting from the sidelines.
A win Tuesday would send the Longhorns west, where they’d face No. 6 seed BYU in the First Round on Thursday, March 19 in Portland, Oregon.
The tournament appearance is the 40th in program history and the 24th in the last 27 seasons — a stretch that excludes 2021, when the postseason was canceled due to COVID-19. Texas is one of just seven programs nationally to reach that mark, and one of only six schools to appear in at least 32 of the last 37 NCAA Tournaments.
