Bryce Foster is an offensive guard for Tyler High School in Katy, Texas. The 2021 recruit is one of the top guards in the nation and has 17 offers, all from Power Five programs.

Foster is the No. 4 ranked offensive guard in the nation and the No. 6 player in the state of Texas per 247Sports. At just over 6-foot-4 and 318 pounds, he has impressive stature for just a sophomore, yet still manages to be extremely athletic.

A few weeks ago at The Opening Regional in Houston, Foster’s test scores were impressive.

He recorded a 5.06 second 40-yard dash, a 4.89 second shuttle, and a 25.20 inch vertical. With an overall rating of 99.42, he was the highest rated offensive lineman.

The young lineman who can bench 385, squat 475, and power clean 275 pounds, is also a star track and field athlete. Foster competes in the shot put and discus events for Tyler High School.

The Longhorns extended Foster a scholarship offer in September of last year. With his size combined with his athleticism, he could be a huge asset for Texas.

Foster says he would like to visit Texas again soon.

“I want to get back up for a spring practice. The last practice I was at, was the bowl practice.”

Texas offensive line coach Herb Hand, did a phenomenal job in developing the Longhorns’ line play in his first season, and recruits have noticed. Foster says his relationship with Hand is great.

“I have to see him soon. We have talked a few times since the last visit.”

After the Longhorns’ Sugar Bowl season, Texas is a place that recruits hold in high regard. On what stands out to him the most about the program, Foster said he has noticed how the team is trending upward.

“I can really tell that they are heading in the right direction. Under coach Herman and his staff, I’ve already seen a huge improvement.”

While Texas A&M is currently dominating Foster’s Crystal Ball Predictions on 247Sports, Foster says he has no clear favorite.

“I wouldn’t say anyone is currently the leader. I’m even on everyone right now. I’m still figuring out what I want to major in, so until i find that out, I won’t have a favorite. But, Texas is one of my top ones.”

The life of a star football and track and field star is a busy one, but Foster still had time to catch some Longhorns’ games, and one detail impressed him the most.

“The improvement of the offensive line since coach Hand got there. They dominated every game, all year.”

While Foster does not have any visits scheduled as of yet, do not be surprised if we see him on campus very soon.

Currently, Texas does not have any commitments from the class of 2021.

Last cycle, the Longhorns signed four offensive lineman to the class of 2019. For the class of 2020, there are three offensive linemen committed in Jake Majors, Logan Parr, and Jaylen Garth.
