We typically stick to all things Longhorn on the site, but HornSports’ writer Johnny Whisenant had a chance to get a few moments of time with the beautiful Lacy Jill from Devine, TX. Lacy is competing in MAXIM’s Hometown Hotties Contest. Vote Lacy and Vote before Tuesday! Let’s get to it:
JW: Lacy, something like this doesn’t come along every day. How did you get into the contest?
LJ: I never imagined I would ever make the cut for Maxim. I’ve never even entered a contest like this or been photographed before. I was fortunate to become friends with the phenomenal photographer, Sal Robles who encouraged me to submit. His confidence in me and artistic eye got me past the editor’s cut. The incredible outpouring of support from family, friends, and my hometown, Devine, Texas has given me the confidence to publicize my submission, and now I’m calling on Texas fans to get me to the finals!
JW: Lacy, what do you have to say to Charles Barkley regarding his now infamous commentary on our Texas ladies being “ugly�
LJ: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so perhaps he should get his eyes checked! Lol! There is beauty all around us here in Texas; I believe that true beauty comes from within and can only be seen by those who are comfortable with who they are. Sorry Charles, I believe this opinion is your loss! Charles has a knack for “getting attention†and this is how he gets it from us in San Antonio. He knows Texans and San Antonians are passionate about our teams, our culture and our people. If it helps the Spurs get some much deserved attention I’m all for his antics!
JW: Lacy, Horn Sports fans want to know, did you play any sports growing up?
LJ: Yes! I pretty much played and liked them all, but focused on cheerleading in High School which as you small-town Texans know makes me a huge Texas football fan!!! I’m your typical small town Texas girl that was into everything.
JW: Anything to say to our Longhorn Fans Lacy?
LJ: Hook ‘em! Of course! It won’t be long before the Longhorns are in the National Championship hunt again!
