The Southeastern Conference released its league schedule for baseball back in September, but on Tuesday afternoon the Longhorns’ complete season schedule was announced, both conference and non-conference games alike.
Texas will open play in the Shriner Children’s College Showdown in Arlington at Globe Life Field with games against Louisville, Ole Miss and former Big 12 opponent Oklahoma State. They will then host the University of Houston for a single game, followed by Dartmouth in a three-game series at Disch-Falk Field. Before heading to Nevada to participate in the Las Vegas Classic against Washington, Texas Tech and Illinois on February 28 – March 2, Texas will also host Incarnate Word in a midweek game on February 25th.
The Longhorns will head back to Austin for a March 4th game against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and a three-game series against Santa Clara. Before starting conference play at Mississippi State, the ‘Horns will play UT-Arlington on March 11 in Austin.
Texas hosts the UTSA Roadrunners on March 18th and then heads to Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge for a three-game series against LSU.
The Sam Houston State Bearkats visit Austin on March 25th followed by a trip by Jim Schlossnagle’s team to Columbia Missouri for a three-game series against the Mizzou on March 28-30. The ‘Horns will then host consecutive games against Texas State (April 1), Georgia (April 4-6) and Houston Christian (April 8) before traveling to Lexington to face the Kentucky Wildcats in a weekend series.
UTRGV visits Disch-Falk Field on April 15 followed by the Auburn Tigers on April 17-19 before the Longhorns travel up I-35 for another game against Texas State on April 22. The Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown against in-state rival Texas A&M will be held in Austin on April 25-27 followed by a midweeker against Prairie View A&M.
To close the season out before the SEC Tournament, Texas will play Arkansas in Little Rock (May 1-3), host Lamar (May 6) and Florida (May 9-11) at home before the final series against the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman (May 15-17).
